Headline Muse, 4/22

This may come as a bit of a shock
But they’re stripping the shelves of “X-Rock”
There’s a problem they saw—
Seems it’s breaking the law
Cos it has an effect on your libido

Headline: Maker recalls ‘X-Rock’ male supplement

You see, as a supplement, it’s pretty much only legal if it has no pharmaceutical effect. You’ve seen the “Quack Miranda” (These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease) attached to supplements–if they actually have an effect, they are considered medicines, and are held to a much higher standard than supplements.

Tests conducted by the Food and Drug Administration found that the supplement X-Rock contained sildenafil — an approved drug to treat erectile dysfunction — and related substance, hydroxythiohomosildenafil, the product’s manufacturer said in a statement annoucing the voluntary recall. The announcement from the product’s manufacturer, X-Rock Industries, was posted on the FDA’s website.

So, because it actually has an effective active ingredient, it’s got to be recalled.

Which should tell you something about the sense of spending your money on supplements.

Hey, though, this gives me a chance to link to one of my most successful posts of all time. Month after month, one of my top search terms was… “biggest dicks.” Why? I give you The “Enzyte Song (The Biggest Dicks Of All)” This supplement, of course, did it right–or rather, did it legally, by not working worth a damn.
