Here is a random collection of cartoons, jokes, and puns for the holiday.
Tom Tomorrow’s latest cartoon has Droney visiting his boss David Petraeus.
Tom the Dancing Bug chroniclesBill O’Reilly’s nightmare about the slow disappearance of ‘traditional America’
And finally, here are 20 jokes for science nerds, with #5 below being one example. (By the way, I don’t get #10. Can anyone help me out?)

It’s suggestive of “The base (as in military base) is under assault!”

The only thing I can think of is that the chemical symbol for sodium is Na (natrium), so it reads as “NaNaNaNaNa…”. Still doesn’t make much sense though

Oh wait, it’s probably referring to the Batman theme:

Yeah, it definitely is the old Batman theme song. It’s often vocalized as “Na-na na-na na-na na-na na-na na-na na-na na-na BAT-MAN!”.
P.S.: Damn it, now I got that song stuck in my head! Took my me two days to get rid of it the last time it happened.

The no.5 joke must have been loved by first year high school chemistry teachers (hint to those who don’t get it, the base, sodium hydroxide,(the opposite of an acid) is under a salt, sodium chloride.) HaHaHaHaHa indeed.

I would never have guessed in a million years that it was the Batman theme. Thanks for sparing me from sleepless nights trying to figure it out.

It reminds me of a photograph I saw. A salt shaker next to a D-cell. It was titled, “A Salt and Battery.”

Notice that the majority are chemistry jokes. Confirms my theory, born of long experience, that chemists are the geekiest, most socially backwards, of nerds.
(Actually, it just stems from chemistry, involving as it does so many symbols, more easily becoming the basis of jokes. But, I don’t let facts get in the way of my theories.)
