The last word on Clint Eastwood

Probably everything that could be said about Clint Eastwood’s appearance at the Republican national convention has been said. As my last comment on it, here is Stephen Colbert’s take on the performance.

(This clip appeared on August 31, 2012. To get suggestions on how to view clips of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report outside the US, please see this earlier post.)

The orang-utan that co-starred with Eastman in the ‘Every Which Way’ movies would hae been more sensible.

What’s the big deal. So Clint Eastwood spent 12 minutes talking to an empty chair.

He spent the two previous hours talking to an empty bar stool.

I think the big deal is that the RNC brought out a person to have a debate with an empty chair…

…a person who lost that debate.

I hadn’t watched this “debate” yet and thought that, while kind of crazy, the reports were exaggerated.

    Nope, weren’t.
