   I liked the earlier rule in the same segment regarding gay ministers:

   “New Rule: If your minister says being gay is bad, or a sin, or an evil temptation, or has any opinion on it stronger than ‘who gives a shit,’ your minister is gay.”

   Harry,

   I am completely in agreement with Krugman on this. I too am in no danger of losing my job and am doing fine even in these times. But surely everyone has to care about people other than themselves, even if it arises out of an extended self-interest? Even if I do not care about the random person on the street and my own children seem to be doing ok, surely there is a good chance that my future grandchildren (should I have any) may have job problems and health problems? Surely that should motivate some people to think about the future prospects of people in general?
