Why do people think of me when they see things like this?

Maybe it’s the eyes.

cephhead

OK, it’s true, I probably would like to have a throbbing pink brain-cephalopod clinging to my head.

I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way, but my first thought was that they associated you with the ‘throbbing pink brain-cephalopod.’ Evil, genius, tyrannical mastermind of the skeptical blog-sphere and all that…

Cue for mentioning the novel “Emperor Mollusc versus The Sinister Brain”!

That image should be captioned, “My eyes are up here!”

I think some noble individual needs to take on the monumental task of knitting this for you.

So PZ Myers walks into a bar with a squid on his head. The bartender says “hey, where’d you get that?”. The squid says “I found this one in Minnesota!”.

I can’t say I blame them. After all, I immediately thought of PZ when I first saw this.

But is that really a cephalopod?

The brain organization and the appendage tip look decidely vertebrate to me. And the way the main body is propped up is suggestive of an internal skeleton (unless the picture was taken underwater).

There’s no clear delineation of the mantle from the presumptive muscular foot/tentacles, no sign of a radula, and no syphon.

Is it trying to unzip dude’s shirt and/or cop a feel?

But is that really a cephalopod?

Hmm. Is that really a human? That thing looks pretty weird as well. (Comic book art.)

Sorry, thought it was a penis monster at first, not a cephalopod.

    I ♥ your style, birger.

In America, people tell you “Shit in your hat.” In Soviet Union, hat shits on you!
