I think I heard:
“Ken Buddha and his inflatable knees. A smile, two bangs, and a religion”.
But I can be rong.
Now. Brian Islam and Brucey – that was a hard act to follow!

Bangs. Two bangs.

Yes, of course it’s “bangs”. Never really noticed Terry Gilliam before, sitting in the background right of Eric Idle, politely applauding. This was still before he had started playing actual parts in sketches.
Sometime in what must have been the early 1980s, I was lent an LP of the Dixieland Jug Blowers. My mind was blown when one of the tracks turned out to be this, though I had to sit through the first two minutes wondering “Could it be…?”

Getting there. Now, if you could teach me to dance like that…

Having only learnt of them lately, I wonder if Wilson and Keppel are being referenced, if they were just part of the zeitgeist.

It was usually Wilson, Keppel and Betty; you linked to a clip without her (or one of them – there were several). Even being American, Gilliam could have known about them; they apparently also played Las Vegas at one point.

Weird. A Python sketch I’ve never seen!
(And as it happens, I live very close to Bletchley, although not in it.)
Typo! I know it’s bangs. Typo, typo. [bands head on desk] [yes I meant to do that]
No, no, that’s not good enough. With an example like Eric Idle’s right in front of you, you need to be much more abject. 🙂
