In honor of the Day of Silence tomorrow, please join me in watching this mind-numbingly stupid video made by the Illinois Family Institute and pointing out the horrible logic they employ. You know it’s going to be good, because they have “Family” in their name:
Actually, I lied. I could only get to the part where the parents are duct-taping their child’s mouth closed before closing the video in annoyance and disgust. Sigh.

love when they cited the stats on alcohol abuse and suicide. Gee, let’s think *why* that’s more likely… Could it be because of the bigoted homophobic douchebags who make videos like this and drive people to hate themselves in shame? hmmm… YES.

Who was it that recently mentioned how the conservatives can’t seem to distinguish between gay/lesbian issues and sex?
A national day of recognition for the discrimination, hatred, violence and bigotry directed toward millions of people? All about butt fucking, clearly.

“The homosexual agenda!” *chug!*
I like the very “Ministry of Truth” nature of it all. It would be moving if it wasn’t in that bland monotone and so hilarious.
Family guys with beams in their eyes.

The most offensive part, for me, was when they compared their plight to the plight of African Americans.
Are you fucking serious?
In addition, I would like for them to address how Mathew Shepard was “playing” the victim.

Have you read the info? It says:
“This 6 minute video, made by a Bible believing church here in Illinois, exposes how our children are being indoctrinated, held captive and forced to accept an unproven and dangerous ideology while Biblical Truth is undermined.”
I find this hilariously ironic. Because bible-believing church-goers, *never* indoctrinate children and force them to accept an unproven and dangerous ideology. HAHAHAHAHA.

Like you said, you know it’s going to be good if the organization has “Family” in its name.
It’s become a calling card for far right social authoritarians so when I see “family values,” the first thing that comes to mind is a pack of frumpy wasps in their 50s smacking people on the head with Bibles and threatening everyone with STDs.
