Trump’s list of enemies gets even weirder

The TV channel C-Span is watched mainly by a small audience of wonky types who are interested in the details of government and public affairs.

Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network (C-SPAN /ˈsiːˌspæn/ SEE-span) is an American cable and satellite television network, created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a nonprofit public service. It televises proceedings of the United States federal government and other public affairs programming. C-SPAN is a private, nonprofit organization funded by its cable and satellite affiliates. It does not have advertisements on any of its television networks or radio stations. However their official website has banner advertisements, and streamed videos also have advertisements. The network operates independently; the cable industry and the U.S. Congress have no control over its programming content.

Since it mainly passively shows public events, it rarely creates any controversy. But at 9:25 a.m. ET Monday on its program Washington Journal, it had a representative from the Center for American Progress (an organization that supports Democrats) discuss an analysis that found that Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to American cities, a move that was widely criticized, had no effect on crime rates in those cities.

Trump went ballistic, writing on his Truth Social site:

“The report is just another Radical Left SCAM, as are the people who fund this gaggle of Lunatics, including George Soros, Bill and Melinda Gates, Google, Apple, Visa, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, WellsFargo, Bank of America, Walmart, Toyota, T-Mobile, and NBC Universal. Foreign support includes the Embassy of Japan, the Korea Foundation, Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (Taiwan), and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates … These people, and others like them, are so bad for our Country. Their stated course is anything to hate or demean ‘TRUMP.’”

While this is a typical Trump rant, there are two things of interest. One is that the list of Trump enemies contains some surprising members, consisting as it does of corporate behemoths, those whom Trump considers friends and allies. And how did the Japan, Taiwan, and Korean embassies enter into this list?

The second interesting thing is where Trump finds the time to follow fairly obscure programs like this one on C-SPAN. It was on a Monday morning when you would think he would be doing presidential stuff. But it appears that his official calendar has big chunks of time carved out for what are referred to as “Executive Time”. That is probably code for him to take naps or watch TV or doomscroll.

Didn’t at least half the corporations on his list chip in on his Big Beautiful Ballroom fund?

Odd that we have so many groups and businesses who, according to Mango Mussolini, are dedicated to,

Their stated course is anything to hate or demean ‘TRUMP.’

And after all Trump has done for this country, like…., (crickets), like…, (even crickets fall silent), anyone?…, Bueller?….

Wasn’t the UAE on the Wonderful Eternal Allies list just a couple of days ago?

After he assumes room temperature, it will become a honor to have been an official ‘enemy of Trump’. They should sue the administration to get their ‘enemy’ status confirmed in writing so they can frame the statement and mount it on the wall.

Wow, that’s like Q-Anon level of creating enemies out of whole cloth, only without the internal logic. Dementia Donnie indeed.
@7: No, we have always been at war with UAEastasia.

It’s quite difficult to have more than one enemy when you behave like Trump does. He’s an adult male who wants power over much of the world but can’t be asked to assume responsibility for even some of his own most trivial mistakes. And he still insists his tariffs that jack US prices up are somehow paid by other countries AND that they somehow make the average US citizen richer.

It’s quite clear the only job he’s ever worked hard at is denying reality. He can’t really have enemies in that state because he’s already doing worse to himself than any pack of enemies could manage.

    @Lassi Hippeläinen:
I mean, he’s already been kind of doing that. He went on a rant about Spain a few weeks ago because Spain didn’t want to let him use Spanish military bases near the Strait of Gibraltar as staging locations for the war on Iran.

George Soros, at this point, is a mythical Evil Being in the brains of looneys.

Soros is 96. He’s probably sitting in the sun in the garden, playing with his great-grandchildren.

He is definitely no longer scheming to take over the world.

Not true at all. The Gates Foundation and the Gates Foundation Trust are self sustaining entities designed to run without continuous input from either Melinda or Bill. The Trust has its own investments currently worth over $35 Billion. Just look up “Gates Foundation” in Wikipedia.
