Cartoonist Stephan Pastis loves bad puns even more than I do. When I see one of these strips, I know from the first few panels that a pun is coming and try to guess the punchline but rarely succeed. He’s the Pun Master!
Apparently Pastis is better at drawing puns than telling them. He was once in a pun contest in which contestants told ten puns and points were awarded if the judges smiled. He bombed. Despite his best efforts to make them smile, no pun in ten did.

OK I don’t get it. Should someone care to explain what the purported pun is, I would be appreciative.
And, of course, ‘Wild Horses’ in the last panel is another Rolling Stones song as well, just to rub it in a bit more.

For the folks whose heritage is more British than American. Sid James and Hatti Jaques et al nearly made a movie about hyenas called “Carrion Laughing”.

Thank you. So were the movies.

grasshopper @#10,
While the “Carry On …” films were formulaic and predictable and used a lot of potty humor and sexual innuendo, there was also an innocence to them that made me a fan as a young boy at the age when one enjoyed ‘naughty’ and silly jokes.
heh heh heh
Two reactions:
1: oh ffs
2: applause

Mano @11 — Wait, you mean we’re supposed to grow out of that phase?
