Fox News on Obamacare and climate change

The success of the ACA in enrolling people has pretty much unhinged the GOP who had clearly thought that the botched rollout meant that the numbers would be way below the original target. This cartoon pretty much captures their reaction.

Luckovich

Saturday Night Live parodies Fox and Friends, one of the worst shows even by the low standards of Fox News. They first discuss Obamacare and then bring on ‘Neil deGrasse Tyson’ to discuss climate change.

The right gets harder and harder to parody.

I suspect that some time in the not too distant future there will be a form of obtuse comedy, like miming, simply named Conservative Commentary. People in expensive suits will wander around airports and subway stations trying to get a laugh by talking nonsense loudly and with confidence. Most people will drop money onto their cup simply to get them to go away.

Meanwhile in somewhat related news, Australia has not been immune to the Climate Change Deniers as this Lateline interview shows :

    http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/content/2014/s3990190.htm

(Video and transcript of high ranking “Tea party” Tony Abbott govt advisor Maurice Newman interviewed 2014 April 22nd.)

An appallingly ignorant Gish Gallop of PRATTs and climate canards.

Murdoch who runs Fox news has been pushing the Denialist cause very strongly in the media he owns here in Oz, sadly. Worse the current governimg party misnamed “liberals” has a dreadful record of bashing environmentalists, and supporting denialists and is soon to abolish our current carbon tax (despite the fact ithasn’t been teh a[pocalptyic thing predicted by real political scare-mongers)and maybe all action and even the goal of doing something about HIRGO.

(Human-Induced Rapid Global Overheating as I call it because that reflects the problem better. We’re not just getting warm -- we’re overheating.)
