We have a new grandson!

Born last night, seen here in his larval form:

Vittorio!

We’ll learn more when his limbs have extended and his wings have inflated and flattened. Right now we’re just happy that the ordeal is over and everyone is healthy.

Big congratulations to parents and grandparents. Over the years you’ve shared a lot about your family and it’s great to see some new beginnings in this case.

Too beautiful! I’m a 64 year old dude and I still have vivid memories of seeing each of my two kids’ faces for the first time, ore than 30 years ago now. It still brings a tear to my eye to see a new-born, still pink and steaming.

“Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It’s round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you’ve got a hundred years here. There’s only one rule that I know of, babies – ‘God damn it, you’ve got to be kind.’”

Vittorio is adorable and appears to be quite large for a newborn larvae. Just look at those cheeks!

Kudos to Mum for excellent gestating, and congrats to everyone. Grandbabies are one of the best parts of getting old.
