It’s that time

Time to go to…work. I have to go into my lab/office and get my class in order for the start of Fall term in two weeks.

Oh well. Next year at this time I’ll be retired, and nobody can tell me to go to work ever again. (Also, my “work” is enjoyable stuff anyway.)

As I was walking into work, I spotted a bouquet that reflects my feelings perfectly.

A little more time, and those flowers will be buried in snow, and I won’t have to look at them anymore.

I hope your experience will be better than mine. I retired at the beginning of April. Compared to my job the last few years, I haven’t worked harder than I have since then. First there was arranging insurance…what a cluster fuck. Then there’s helping with the garden. Now there’s prepping to have the kitchen upgraded.

I can’t get sick or even die…God knows how hard I would have to work.

    LOL.
I recognize the reference and the character.
Maynard G. Krebs was one of my all time favorites and for me the star of the show.
I barely remember anything else about it. The supposed main star was mostly forgettable.

And, as everyone should know and probably knows, he went on to become the Gilligan of Gilligan’s Island.

Is it too late for you to emigrate to Scandinavia? We generally do not leave our elderly out to die of exposure. And if you stay and MAGA holds on to power, ‘every day is Soylent Green day’.

Yeah, I’ve seen the movie. You don’t leave them out to die, you take them to a cliff and push them off to be dashed on the rocks.
