From the insignia, looks like your Dad was in the Signal Corps. Where did he serve? My Dad was also in the Signal Corp. (Ken Miller)

Let us punch away all the nazis before he is of age for the uniform.
He is currently a major in the signal corps. He’s served at bases in New York and Texas, currently stationed at JBLM, but is about to be transferred to Korea for a year. Military people get shuffled around even more than early career academics.
