First thing I found: a cross orbweaver, Araneus diadematus. We haven’t found any of these where we live in Minnesota.

I was walking around the house before work one recent morning and in the backyard I spotted an ornate crab shell looking spider webbed up across a palm frond at eye level. Didn’t have a chance to take a pic but if I do I’ll post to Discord. My favorite spiders aesthetically. Haven’t seen my flatties inside lately.

I wish you fortitude for the coming week. The wash of memory is a strange and unpredictable part of the process. Even something so small as a familiar spider triggers the mind into recalling events long forgotten.
