As a parent of 3 and grandfather of 2, I must protest
I have, of course, read all the Richard Scarry books, and will probably be reading more if ever I see the grandkids again, and this is just too accurate.
One of the narratives of the right wing in the US (dunno if you’re here of not) is that Republican states drive the economy and Democratic states leech off of it via social programs. The actual numbers show that this is almost exactly the opposite of reality — IIRC, something like 8 out of 10 of the states which pay the most in taxes, both per capita and in absolute dollars, are blue, while 9 out of 10 of the ones which cost the most in social services per capita are red — but without lies the Republicans would have no talking points at all anyway.

He drew the “no they don’t protester” in Black Bloc gear, which is questionable.
Who’s this guy supposed to be, other than the already mentioned government goons and far-right counterprotesters?
(BTW the cartoon is brilliant allover)

To be fair the slave labor prisoner is actually a blue state thing. It has been going on long before Trump and will continue long after Biden takes over. California is basically dependent on them.
Although provocateurs will sometimes dress the same way in order to discredit the protest, genuine black bloc protesters are often (according to people I’ve talked to who have been in protests) found standing in the way of harm.

What’s a “blue state moocher”?

@ DonDueed, # 1: Anyone in a state that didn’t vote for Trump.
