You will not be surprised by what Andrea Tantaros says.
“Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny,” Ms. Tantaros’s suit says.
Tantaros is a wingnut, but even wingnuts should be able to expect some decency and fair treatment in their workplace.
I wonder if these revelations will have any effect at all on the evangelical Christian conservatives who do so dearly love the network?
Nah, I’m lying. I don’t wonder at all. If they can swallow Trump, they can choke down anything.

Suing a corporation over mistreatment? Isn’t that just so “PC”?
Fox is apparently where “suck it up” is used both figuratively and literally.

I’m pretty sure that those are traditional family values. That’s what you get without feminism.
Ok, you might still have lots of sex with feminism too, which is generally a cool thing, but the rest of that list, the bad stuff, is totally “traditional family values” or the results thereof.

Why is misogyny listed as an issue? I thought it was feature.

If there is one thing evangelical christians have shown this year (and Samantha Bee did a great expose on this) is that they have never truly been concerned about morals; they’ve only been concerned about bigotry. “Family values” means that their neighborhood, town, state, and country are controlled by white people. They watch Fox, because it supports their bigotry. That’s why they neither care about the lies and distortions of fact nor the immoral and illegal behavior behind the scenes.

I used to think that the Evangelists and their success was about religion then Jimmy Swaggart happened and then Jim Bakker.
nothing surprises me any more the only thing that has changed is it is now more likely covered in the news than swept under the carpet.

@Enlightenment Liberal #2:
Damn, you beat me to it.
But, I don’t think Ms. Tantaros should drag the Playboy Mansion into this. Say what you want about the Hef and his personal version of sexual freedom (i.e. I get a rotating supply of young women for me and my friends who are allowed to age), at least he’s “live and let live” towards those who don’t share his world view. Plus, he’s been on the right side of LGBT* issues since the ’50s. Far longer than many feminist groups and in direct opposition to Fox News.

Seems like Scott Brown is also involved in this suit. The idea of Fox guests also feeling like they too can sample from the company buffet is… ew.

Tantaros seems like more of a secular oriented right winger. I suspect she figures some of the “family values” stuff the right puts out is silly crap needed to keep the “yokels” in line.

…was that a fat joke?

I agree. My only issue is I think she has complained about feminists complaining about harassment in public…so I guess I would add “and a hypocrite” to that statement.
I could be confusing her for other FOX News hosts, but feminism does seem to generally be frowned upon at FOX News. Also, has she not seen Mad Men? I thought “operating like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult” was a traditional family value. You know, before those damn feminists started demanding their husbands not fool around with their secretaries.
So…yeah, not surprised at all. It’s more frustrating that Tantaros thinks their is some sort of conflict between traditional family values and what has happened at FOX News. But…rose colored glasses and all.

Just going to repeat that Fox News has a lot of young, conventionally-attractive women in a uniform short dress as on-air news-people. I don’t watch Fox, but this is so noticable that I picked it up just rolling through channels. The men, of course, are wearing jackets and ties, and sitting in the middle of the table, with the women on the end with their legs showing.
If it sounds like I’m slavering over what I pretend to disapprove, well, that’s what Fox does a lot. They will put up a picture, and rant about how liberals keep showing that picture on TV. (And that sounds like I watch Fox enough to know that – again, it’s so common.)
Fox would probably say they hire lots of women because they are qualified, and Fox is non-discriminatory. But when they are all of an age and type, and all wearing the same dress style, it would be hard to believe. Believing that Fox further exploits the women it hires is easy.

Ah a new way to spell Fox…Fux News. Or is that Sux News. As I’ve said other times about the other cases, it can’t be long before we find the main man and his scions involved. If they weren’t actively participating in sexual harassment of staff they were standing on the sideline watching.

A slighly different sexism issue, but male TV personalities seem to have changed little in 40 years.
