A Houston grand jury was convened to decide charges in the case of the faked Planned Parenthood videos. They came to an interesting decision.
A grand jury here that was investigating accusations of misconduct against Planned Parenthood has instead indicted two abortion opponents who made undercover videos of the organization.
Prosecutors in Harris County said one of the leaders of the Center for Medical Progress — an anti-abortion group that made secretly recorded videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood officials trying to illegally profit from the sale of fetal tissue — had been indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record, a felony, and on a misdemeanor charge related to purchasing human organs.
Planned Parenthood was cleared of all charges. Slimeball Daleiden who patched together misleading videos under false pretenses…well, he’s going to court.
Unfortunately, the article also features several blustering Texas Republicans declaring that they don’t care about the decision, they’re going to continue to ‘protect life’ by persecuting Planned Parenthood.
Unfortunately, one of the “several blustering Texas Republicans ” is the Governor, so he can do more than bluster.
Whenever political corruption comes up, people like to bring up the Chicago Machine, but Texas is just as bad.
They don’t give a shit about the life of women, just things they pretend are babies. And those things won’t be until they are born, after which they don’t give a shit about them either. Hypocrites all around.
The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
Italy had recently had the “Family Day” with the blessing of the Vatican and many government officials, in preparation to a proposed bills that would bring civil unions.

Chicago’s political machine is no worse than the machines in any other large city. On the other hand, the fact that the machine has been used to help cover up Chicago cops literally murdering people (and also, just incidentally, torturing suspects for decades, but that’s apparently water under the bridge) gives me pause.
And the same time I saw this, USA today also published some drivel by the guy in charge of “Center for Medical progress” or whatever the crap they call themselves.

Huh. Who knew that lying to an entire country for ideological gain might have consequences?
Dear USA
You have a problem and people like Huckabee are its embodiment. They no longer believe in laws or anything. They don’t even believe in changing laws. They believe in a war of them, the good guys, vs the Others, the bad guys, an therefore everything is allowed. Courts shouldn’t decide whether an actual crime took place an who committed it, but who “the good guy” is
Ha ha ha, so you could say it didn’t go as planned for them….
I just got my regular please donate letter from PP, definitely time to send a few dollars their way again. I’m glad something went the right way for once, but this is the tiniest drop of water in a bucket full of poison.
What?! HAHAHA! Enjoy Huntsville, losers.
Also, Gregg Abbott is a tool and an embarrassment to the great state of Texas. and Molly should be here to see this one.
Unfortunately, I don’t think you can find 12 people in Houston who are clear-headed enough to vote to convict those slimeballs.
moar #12: I would agree with you but for one fact: the grand jury that indicted these slimeballs was also in Texas. Texas! Grand juries in NY or CA doing this would not be surprising, but Texas? The CMP must be even more egregious than we thought, and that gives me hope.

Phew!
For a moment I thought Buonanno was Gianluca!
Sorry, I forgot the link!
Gianluca Buonanno is an Italian rightwing nut who appeared on TV showing a gun to advertise his proposal to give everyone a 250€ rebate to buy one.

Cross posted from the Moments of Political Madness thread.
Republican presidential candidates are nearly apoplectic at the jury’s decision to indict the videographers who produced and distributed deceptive videos about Planned Parenthood. The Republicans are clinging to their misinformation and their myths desperately.
