Our Intro Biology textbook has a big section on the actual lives of the clown fish. So accordingly I explain to my class that if the story in Finding Nemo held to reality, when Nemos’ mother dies what should happen is the father should replace her by becoming female, and Nemo will grow up to be a male. He will probably then mate with his mother/father. See? I love biology.
So when Coral died, Marlin would have changed his sex and become Marla.
And then the nuptuals with Nemo.
