Nice gift!

Thanks to Pamela Turner for sending me a box of TCHO chocolates — they’re fabulous. My one concern is that I’m about to leave town for a day, and this box of temptations is sitting out on the dining room table where the Trophy Wife™ and the Trophy Daughter™ and even one of the Trophy Sons™ (who is visiting us for a few weeks) can find it. I’m going to come home from Syracuse on Friday to find them all gone, aren’t I?

Yes, you will. That is why you should make a show of magnanimity so you can feel good about it.

… and take a few with you.

PZ, after looking at the pictures of you taken in Australia, it’s obvious you could stand to lose a few grammes. Leave the chocolates for the Trophy Family™.

if a chocolate is eaten in the dining room and nobody is there to see it, does it taste good?

    or something like that….

Tcho chocolates? From the Plains of Leng?

  5. Hank Fox says

Well, you COULD bring the chocolate to Syracuse with you, and share with old friends (Carl Buell, Hank Fox).

But seriously, no need. Really looking forward to seeing you — that will be treat enough.

Trpohy Daughter is vegan and hence is probably not a threat.

Maybe just eat the dark chocolate?

  7. Rixaeton says

As a person with a vegan diet, I approve most of the products listed.

    Mmmmm… dark chocolate.

I’m not entirely sure what to make of the concept of Trophy Offspring. It sounds wrong somehow.

  9. Rixaeton says

#14: I agree it sounds offputting. I would have thought that Madonna and Angelina Jolie have Trophy Offspring…

But if you have children with a Trophy Wife… I guess that follows too.

Or eat them in the car. Everyone knows that food consumed in a car doesn’t count.

I like the squamous centres best. Not so keen on the rugose ones.

How does it compare to Mo’s chocolate bacon bar from Rochester?

Chocolate is made from cacao beans. Beans are good for you. QED: chocolate is good for you.

The picture in my mind was that of PZ returning home to a strangely empty home, with all the TrophyFamily vanished into thin air and an empty box of chocolates sitting on the dining table.

Cue, creepy music and Rod Sterling saying “This is the Twilight Zone.”

Naw, I see a cup of tea, the TW™, and one last piece for you, or two if the TW™ is having one too…

You realize that chocolate is from the Theobroma cacao tree and Theobroma translates as ‘food of god’. Obviously this was the tree in the garden of Eden and not the apple.

  16. Harbo says

I can understand the chocolates being gone. (T1/2 < 1day in my house) but the really spooky thing is that he expects them ALL to be gone...

  17. Sili says

Nice way of asking for more offerings.

In reality you’ve already eaten them all, haven’t you?

Trpohy Daughter is vegan and hence is probably not a threat.

Hmmm. Not much a trophy are you? I’d expect my trophy daughter to rip out the larynges of babies with her teeth, Marjanović-style.
