It is great to see intelligent young people who are comfortable expressing their atheistic opinions! People like Dawkins, PZ and others are creating a more comfortable environment for such expression from youth. Thanks.

I dunno. I think Dawkins is at least going to give her a run for her money.
plunge – Thanks for the link to Dawkins’ post. I especially love the ending.
“If those books are, as is often dismissively said, preaching to the choir, do not underestimate its size or ability. This is a very large and very talented choir, and the time has come for its music to be heard.”
I think we’re just starting to hear some music!

PZ, if I were 10 years younger and Skatje were 10 years older. . . .
She’s an awesome young woman.
Happy new year to you and yours.

Hey, she’s got the mentis (*) on her page. Does that mean it’s a movement now?
PZ, your daughter is probably the most ridiculously clear, concise, and intelligent-sounding sixteen-year-old I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve worked with and known many. Wasn’t even THAT long ago that I was one, myself, but she’s certainly got me trumped at that age. Kudos to you both.

There’s no way she’s 16. That’s a lie. Why would you even make up a lie like that? Who would believe it? What do you think we are, suckers?
…I kid, because at 16 I was an idiot, and it embarrasses me that others aren’t. I do know a lot of 16 year olds, though, and I can safely say that this one has unfeasibly high levels of awesome. If she is not our benevolent overlord within 20 years then she has wasted her potential.
No pressure, just sayin’…

Good stuff! High style points. I’m going to wager that PZ posts about it once he wakes up.
I expect the usual contingent of thoreologians and thoreologian-enablers to dismiss it though. Dawkins just hasn’t put in the footwork to be taken seriously on the topic.
Thanks for the link. I see a writer that is growing, and gaining the ability to express clearly and concisely a concept that is important to her.

Clearly she is a hate-filled little girl that whose ‘aggressive anti-theism’ will hurt all of ‘us’!!
PZ tell her to sit on her hands in the back of the bus, never mentioning (whisper) “ATHEISM”, or else Master – I mean theists – might get mad at us!!!

Somebody had to start it. We can debate over which one we want to use for years, so I just went with one.

Skatje’s right. We could debate for years over which symbol to use.
Hmmm. I just noticed Rosio Pavoris has a mentis in the lower right column too. Maybe this is catching on.

It looks like the quest for iconography representing AtheismTM demonstrates that atheists will argue against anything but godlessness.

Thanks quork, I’m glad I already finished the Diet Coke. Best joke I’ve seen this year.
