For more metaphorical execution of the ghastly Mr Wells and his dumb little book, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design, my article on chapter 3 is now available at the Panda’s Thumb, and if you want something fresh, Burt Humburg tackles the internal contradictions and fuzzy thinking of Wells’ theology. Not that I would ever imply that there is a theology that isn’t fuzzy and contradictory, but Wells seems to have bunged up the job particularly well.

Your Humberg link actually links to this same post. Just a heads-up.
Nice review on PT.

If you make the obvious susbstitution of “Ridiculously” for “Politically”, the acronym becomes RIGDID.
Which seems somehow appropriate.

Thanks for the post PZ, I am now much better prepared for creationist criticisms of evolution that use embryology. The point about deliberate confusion of early and late stages of development was particularly good.

That was a fantastic review on Panda’s Thumb. Thanks for writing such a clear explanation of Wells’ tricks and what’s actually going on during the stages of embryo development.
