    One sound smaller dolphins often make is a self-identification message. May be he same with large ones like Orcas. Then there are much more flexible sounds that might enable another orca to know what that particular orca is doing. But who really knows? One thing I think we can be pretty sure of is that there is no symbolic language. This was pretty extenisvely studied in smaller dolphins that are easier to deal with in captivity.
