It’s clearly a single tentacle; see the way it curls sinuously up the stairs?

  2. rq says

I can definitely see them all thinking one and the same thing.
It’s so obvious from the uniform dress code and identical facial features.

  3. chigau (違う) says

The guy at upper left could be your long-haired brother.

    Wait.
Now that you mention it, they all kinda look like PZ…
    aaarrrgh

I fear I should recognise more people than I do.

Hi all! Hope to see you soon(ish).

  5. smhll says

Terrific! I am happy to believe that you all are more than clever text on my glowing screen.

  6. Archaeopteryx lithographica says

That picture makes me smile, and I don’t even know any of those folks. Rational people are naturally beautiful.

  7. says

don’t be silly PZ. that picture is impossible, since you can’t make connections with people and build communities online. clearly it’s staged.

Wait, have we just disproven solipsism?

    @Jadehawk:

you can’t make connections with people and build communities online.

Of course not. I mean, just take a look at Justin V’s pathetic twitter feed: when not spamming the #wiscfi hashtag, the poor man was apparently stuck with Shirley Phelps-Roper’s new BFF Karla Porter, tweeting pictures of his food. Case closed!

The most amazing thing about this pic:

That’s not the entirety of the crowd that was there. I can recall about four to five others who weren’t able to be in the pic, either they had to leave early and catch a plane, or they were camera shy, or they had to stay out of the picture for other reasons.

So yea. There were about 30ish horde there at that lunch.

Clearly (as Jadehawk says) not a real group of people, since you can’t make friends or build communities online.

This explains PZ’s fascination with tentacles, he needs them to operate all those sockpuppets. They’re obviously sockpuppets right?

  11. mikeyb says

That’s great. Hopefully the horde will grow by leaps and bounds. After all Jesus supposedly started with twelve and look where that went.

Pretty depressing watching thinks like Moving Naturalism Forward on youtube only generates a few thousand hits. How many people actually give a damn about this stuff.

Hopefully there is giant silent majority out there that we are unaware of. Perhaps in Europe.

  12. Ogvorbis, broken failure. says

is this the Louisqueue or the Brownian/Anthony K. queue about which I have heard so much about?

  13. Nerd of Redhead, Dances OM Trolls says

Mount up again, we’ve got a world to conquer!

Dang PZ, I didn’t even get a chance to finish my coffee at work, or even eat my sammich for lunch, and the cleaners lost my tutu….

  14. carlie says

I recognize some of those people, which makes me happy!
I don’t recognize others, which makes me sad.

    What I wouldn’t give for a worldwide simultaneous PharynguCon…

    HOLYCOW I’M IN THE HORDE.

Now, if I can just get this commenting system to use ‘Brad’ instead of ‘James’, people might even know who I am :P

  16. Stacy says

Aw, man, PZ didn’t post the one where I was giving him bunny ears.

Or the one where I gave him devil’s horns. Boo-urns!

  17. Lofty says

That is one seriously tough looking bunch of hordelings there! Tough but gentle, too.

  18. Mahoe says

I can see at least a couple of men there who don’t have full beards…tsk tsk when will they learn?

I recognized 6. Just. But that only means the others have to comment more…

    Seconded. *sniff*

    I recognized 6.

I recognize 6 to 8 (the photo isn’t that good) from meatspace and 3 more from online photos.

*sniff* I can’t grow one. My mom’s side of the family can’t manage more than a little fuzz. It’s actually sad, because I really want to grow a beard… my genes won’t let me… :(

    Damn genes…

    *grumble grumble*
