    ATTENDING CLASSES

…have I mentioned recently how boneheaded it was to schedule it in March?

All of that concentrated skepticism in D.C. is why the world will end in 2012. It’ll cause a tear in the spacetime continuum. Oh, no!

On second thought, probably not. Otherwise the high density of stupidity in D.C. (esp. in the current House of Reps) would have caused that spacetime rip already!

I’ll be there (it will also be my birthday!)

The Reason Rally lists that it will be “at the National Mall in Washington DC.” The National Mall is a big place and while it would be nice if there were enough “reasonable” people attending it to fill the mall it would be useful to attendees if they were a bit more specific as to the location. Well anyhoo.. I will sign up for “updates.”

Look forward to seeing you there.

I will be there, quite possibly with bells on. I am also going to attend the American Atheists National Convention, which will be going on a Metro stop away on the two days following the Reason Rally (and if I’m not mistaken PZ will be at that one too).

    Big double-header, I can’t wait!

Teaching on the other side of the world. It may be lame, but that’s the way life is.

Whoever chose the photo of Richard on the Reason Rally page, should be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

I mean come on… I’ve seen many magnificent photos of Ol’ Dick™ and the one on the Reason Rally site makes him look a bit odd. Just saying!

    See here’s a nice(r) picture of Richard

Make sure to awkwardly high-5 TF and Ra for me PZ!

FYI to those coming from out of town–this is happening during the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, so don’t wait to book a hotel–I’m sure they’re already filling up. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the gift of several thousand cherry trees from Japan, and the festival has everything from free concerts on the mall to fireworks to streetfairs, spread out over a month or so while the trees bloom. And of course, you can always just walk around the Tidal Basin to see the trees in bloom. (More info here: http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/about/2012-centennial/ )

Shorter me: Late March is a great time to come to DC, and there will be lots going on. But there will be a lot of tourists, so book your travel and hotels ASAP.

I can guarantee that whatever I’m doing in March, it will definitely be lame!!!

I can also guarantee that I’ll be out of the country & will almost certainly be having really, really good sex. Really good, really lame sex. If I’m lucky, I might even be wheelchair bound!!!

    beat that!

    Lame is sexy!

    Yeah yeah–I’ll be there.

In the meantime, can y’all work on the sound editing for the video? And the focus of the camera?

Hmm, the prominent people mentioned (Dawkins, Myers, Randi, Minchin, Bad Religion band) are all white men, then that section of the clip glosses over some female names and ends with a boo at ZOMGits? C’mon people.

Hope you make room for some “sexism in the atheist/sceptical/rational community” panels during the event and hopefully there will be a plethora of recordings to watch on YouTube.

In March, during a complete lack of university holidays? And during a festival that may already have filled up all hotels? Yeah, that was stupid.

Off to watch the humiliation of WLC… :-)

I am wildly and ferociously jealous of those who get to attend. Damnable job, I wanna go to DC.

I really, really, really, don’t mean to ‘objectify’ women, but ZOMGisCriss’ beauty is stunning. I was already planning on traveling to the event all the way from Minnesota, but now I feel much more allured.
