It was heartening to hear Don Lemon unequivocally agree that despite the Duggars thinking that they had “handled” the situation, that “no, they did NOT handle it.” Also, very interesting to hear Vyckie’s description of the mindset and why they considered manual labor to be “counseling”. Many of my own southern relatives have the same belief in manual labor as a “character forming” activity, even the ones who are not religious. Be that as it may, even if true, it is absolutely no substitute for professional psychiatric counseling.
And let us not forget that a CRIME was committed here. Multiple felonies: the police report states that just a couple of lines down. And that is before we even consider the possibility that there might have been rape involved.
