I actually bought some spicy kimchi yesterday alongside kefir. But kimchirios? Pickled cereal? I’ll stick with oatmeal which berries make fun enough for me.
I did try my own avocado toast this past week. Not bad. Now I too am responsible for the downfall of civilization alongside the bluehair millennials. Let’s get this done!
Not ever going to skydive. There was a cool segment in V/H/S/Beyond that mixed skydiving and malevolent extraterrestrials. That could be fun.
You already toy with venomous spiders. What could be more thrill seeking than that?
Why go to a sporting event when you can stream it instead? F1 multiview (go Kimi) or recently I’ve taken to watching 🤢 MLB baseball 🤮 which too has multiview so I can see multiple simultaneous instances of not very much going on. Good for deep sleep induction. Fun??? I dunno.

I’m going to melt down some bronze into glowing liquid and make cool shit out of it today. I think that’s pretty fun!

For the price of a cheap bag of dog biscuits (and the neighbor’s permission), I’ve made great friends with the two dogs behind my backyard. They hear my slider and run to the low fence, overjoyed to see me. I get to pet them and don’t have to pick up poop.

Luckily I have my hobbies… (of zero interest to anyone but me unless I can use them to make a present for a friend or relative).
You wanna stick it to the man? The most economical of hobbies is, I aver, carbon-pencil drawing. Just get a sheet of paper, two-three pencils (hard – medium – soft), fixing spray and you are set up at negligible cost. If you really want to splash, get some thick artist’s paper, but that tends to give you blank-sheet panic compounded by expensive-paper panic, so it’s not strictly necessary. Draw anything: people, dogs, plants, whatever (and if you copy from photos try to use your own).
Not everyone is a Leonardo/Michelangelo/Whoever, but everyone can enjoy it, Great Art be damned.

Tried making chili con carne (less spicy) and chili sin carne (very spicy) for me and my vegetarian wife at the same time with two pans using sofrito/mirepoix as the base. Added some tomatoes, garlic and kidney beans and it turned out great (I like mine over rice). Next fun thing to try is to use the same sofrito base with Japanese curry blocks.
About a month ago I watched a video about anhedonia in video games. We’ve gotten so much to do in games like collectables and achievement farming that sometimes we forget how to have fun, rather than do virtual check lists.

Gonna put the camera in the backpack and hop on my bike tomorrow. The orchids will probably bloom in that protected area west of here. After that maybe I’ll head towards the old castle or take that trail northward up the hills. Some very beautifull places there.
Handed my old camera to a friend’s teenaged daughter earlier. She looked so happy, seems someone alse will also have fun with photography this summer!

This evening I shall mostly be making a medieval carrot soup. Orange carrots rather than purple ones, and padded out with a potato rather than a turnip, but I’m working with what I have.
There will be sippets.

My type of fun is to grow plants, trying many different cultivars of chilies this year after my successes (and failures) of last year. Growing Carolina Reapers, Scotch Bonnets, Lemon Fat Drops, Lyssa etc. Twenty two in all ( has gotten out hand I think) just in hopes that I find one my wife really likes, hopefully more so I can crossbreed a couple to produce one she loves. I also grow weed, only have two cultivars but producing a seed bank at the moment. I just give all my friends (Guinea pigs) the finished product at this point. When my responsibilities have declined I will be ready to have fun myself and have a knowledge base of how to grow.

We’re trying to get a SciFi/Fantasy interest group going in our area.
Last month, two people showed up. We’ll try again this month.
My husband and I will be attending the 60th Star Trek convention in Vegas this August.
Now that will be FUN!
In October, we’ll be in Honolulu, celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary.
That will be sweet, romantic fun.
You MUST find moments of fun and joy in every single day. Otherwise, the terrorists win!!!

I am having fun watching politics. This years off year election promises the GOP taking it in the shorts big time. There will be a flood of big, salty MAGA tears post election day. It seems almost weekly now some GOP politician is retiring to avoid the ignominy of being voted out of office.

@17. cheerfulcharlie : I sure hope you are right. For starters I hope there actually are mid-term elections and that they will be legitimate not rigged. I fear that likely won’t be the case.

I recommend Jockey Elance bikinis.

IME Mack Weldons are more comfortable, have better colors, and have more room than Jockey Elance.
I’m going to be terribly boring on this one, and demonstrate my nerdiness in a way PZ wouldn’t have fun doing:
16 years ago, I paid $200 for a ‘lifetime membership’ to The Lord of the Rings Online. Nobody expected any MMOs to last that long. Well, the 19th Anniversary is underway, and it’s still a fun game for me. The devs are pretty good storytellers (in the content beyond the core story. Obviously they had a hand with that), and getting to inhabit a place where good can actually beat evil’s butt is a nice change of pace.

I’ve got a few ideas:
Since starting on Zepbound in January, I’m starting to lose a significant amount of weight. I was at 375 in December and Now I’m done to 330. It’s getting much easier for me to get around. Now that it’s getting warm enough to go outside, I plan to do a lot of walking.
On the more intellectual side of things, I’ll be meeting with my friends each week for board games and conversation. Also there is a new indie RPG store in Milwaukee and I might start a Delta Green group there.
Thera is also my innumerable backlog of miniatures for me to paint. I’ve acquired a folding table and chair so I can sit in the garage while I paint everything from hoplites to battlemechs, I’m also firing up my SLA printer to and more minis to the pile that never ends.

My main fun activity is left-wing politics so that Karl Marx book cover kind of speaks to me.
I’m painting an artist’s conk; a common thing to see when I was a youngster, usually painted with rainforest/ocean scenes, so I’m painting the view out of my bedroom window 70 years ago.
And I planted the garden with deer-friendly veggies. Twice the usual number of plants; maybe they’ll leave me some. My fun for the rest of the summer: trying to outwit hungry deer.
