I want one of these right now.
This is especially urgent because our current, temporary evil cat knocked my camera down in the night and utterly destroyed a lens, and is now persona non grata, and may find herself kicked out of the house permanently. Fortunately, it was a cheap little pancake lens, but I haven’t yet evaluated any damage to the camera body. Right now I have to figure out how to lock her out of my office.
I want to make a joke about the camera body, but I haven’t drawn a summoning circle.
Well, I somehow doubt the veracity of this clip -yt short but it does give a bit of an impression. As a geneticist I’m sure you know all about the mutations necessary to get this yeah PZ?
That’s a fundamental change to the body plan — it would require jiggering up key regulatory genes from gastrulation on. Not going to happen. Much easier to fuse a couple of later stage embryos.
Or instea dof playing around with radiation there’s the option breifly shown here (another yt short) – although I rather doubt the cat would enjoy it much..

Also, I once saw (at a cat-adoption place) something called a Savannah cat, which had leopard-like patterns and was about as big as a mid-size dog (beagle?) I wonder what sort of reaction I’d get if I either let it go outside on its own, or took it out for walks…
