People are good at producing vomit all on their own

The last couple of posts were all about blaming AI for the decay of the internet. I must be fair and impartial, though: humans are also to blame.

For instance, Andrew Tate is in and out of jail and facing extradition from Romania. The only reason we know of that scumbag’s existence is thanks to the internet.

Tate and his brother are dual US-British nationals. Tate is a former kickboxer who has built up a massive social media following — 8.9 million followers on X, formerly known as Twitter — by sharing misogynistic views about the role of women and masculinity.

He was previously banned from various prominent social media platforms for those views, but has been reinstated on X.

As far as I know, he had no assistance from AI — he built that empire with his own personal human hate-mongering.

It goes without saying that he “has been reinstated on X,” because Elon Musk is another human who is enabling more poisonous speech.

So, you’re trying tell me people don’t need AI to be awful? I don’t believe it.

It is too bad that the Time Cube vanished (except at the Internet Archive) before these Ai-ish things could get a taste.

@1: People can be awful without AI, but with AI they can produce even more awful in less time!

The art school reject from Austria also wrote a pretty bad book. And the mass murderer from Georgia fashioned himself a writer, being a dilettante on many subjects.

    @5: No, you’re not.

With a closer look I quickly recognised that it was actually not the guy who hit the drums but the guy who was hit in the head a bit to often.

No, humans are only to blame. Not only did they make the AI, but it trained on them. See also visual recognition systems that can’t seem to distinguish black people. See also language recognition systems that don’t understand dialects other than those spoken by engineers.

“I learned it from you, dad” – every AI everywhere

    Like religion.

What terrifies me is how much influence this shit has over boys these dats. I’ve heard more than a few tales from teachers about how they dismiss female teachers because Tate told them they were “just women” or contradicting males because they’re “brokies” (i.e. poor).

I saw a meme a while back where he’s standing in front of one of his cars and claiming that he’s too busy being a multi-millionaire to watch it.I guess he’s got a lot of free time now.

With further research I found this gem:

    Still haven’t watched Star Wars.

And my life continues getting better.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know how to bribe Romanian prison guards so that they will strap a prisoner into a chair and force them to watch Caravan of Courage and The Star Wars Holiday Special over and over again.
