    A miracle has occurred.

Pharyngula has been resurrected from the dead.
And, this time there are a lot of witnesses and documentation.

I have no idea how PZ Myers did it but congratulations.

What the AF happened?! Was it anything to do with that edge-lordy wanker who was alleging FTB was defrauding someone or other?

Also, this post is dated 2/26, which is several days after FTB vanished from view. Was FTB up but unable to connect or something?

Is that all it takes to shut down a site temporarily? WTF!

Glad it is back and look forward to learning more.

Stop supporting Israel? I didn’t think you’re a “From the river to the sea” type.

After I watched this video the website was gone, glad it’s back!

Very depressing whats going on in Gaza. I suppose the IDF will do whatever it wants and the Palestinians will suffer whatever they must.

Seversky: Are you referring to Netanyahu’s recent statement that, “in the future, the state of Israel has to control the entire area from the river to the sea”?

Honestly a very good video. I’m also going to read the “Hundred years of war on Palestine” book referenced there. I have to admit my views have been considerably moved in the past years regarding the conflict. I never had any favorable view of the right-wing Israeli policies but I did not have the broader colonial view of the conflict. Things make a lot more sense once you realize that.

Yes. Adapting your views to fit empirical data rather than trying to interpret reality to fit your views is definitely the way to go.

I think we’ve all been guilty of the latter at one time or another.

I just finished listening and one of the things I most struggle with – even though intellectually I know it to be true – is that facing horrible bigotry yourself doesn’t make you any less likely to be bigoted.

It’s hard to wrap your head around. You think, “surely you get why this is wrong – you’ve experienced it yourself”. But no. It makes no difference. Sone of the most disgusting bigots I know have faced prejudice themselves. It really makes no difference.

As Shaun says, regrettably one is drawn to the conclusion humans are just naturally bigots. At least, often.

Sean’s video is clearly pro-Palestinian and anti-semitic. That’s his right. Others including myself disagree, Appeasement did not mollify Nazi Germany and I seriously doubt it will do anything to curb Hamas’s ambitions, a crushing military defeat might.

I wonder why you don’t apply the same logic to apartheid, expansionist, war-criming Israel.

I’m not that “type” either, but I still agree that it’s simply not in America’s interests to keep on supporting Israel. Our current “policy” is doing nothing but causing deep and unnecessary divisions among Americans, while not doing anyone any good in or near Israel. This is a fight between two bigoted authoritarian regimes (Likudniks and Hamas), who are only perpetuating this war to silence internal opposition to their respective failures and malfeasance, at absolutely horrific cost, and no benefit, to their own respective peoples. Neither party deserves any support from the USA or anyone else, and we’re long past the point where US support or intervention has any chance of improving anything. It’s time for the USA to look out for our own interests, and that means ditching an “ally” who’s been doing us more harm than good for decades already, and healing the divisions among our own people.

@14 the inflationary and diluted use of the word “anti-semitic” by anyone who has no better argument in addressing Israel’s critics is deeply troubling
