Oh my, I have some favorite tweets

I couldn’t give up Twitter, there are so many candid self-owns on there. Like this “totally crap analysis” from James Lindsay, who explains to us his interpretation of feminism, Critical Race Theory, and Queer Theory.

All three really deserve a spit take. Feminism sees men as the ideal… we can just stop right there. It’s projection, through and through. Only a heterosexual white man would look at people protesting oppression by a heterosexual white male establishment and think, “Oh, they’re just jealous and want to be heterosexual white men”. He’s making the superficial smooth brained interpretation of everything. Please do have fun eviscerating his words.

But then, just when I thought I’d found the dumbest tweet of the week, along comes Dean Browning, former Lehigh County Commissioner and Christian conservative.

He seems to have forgotten that he had to log in to his sock puppet account.

That’s a very Christian conservative thing to do.

Oh man, that last story just gets twistier by the minute.

If James Lindsay wants to lead by example, he could stop pretending he’s interesting. It’s not that I “got over” him. He’s never been on my radar to begin with.

How do you know that the former commissioner didn’t simply commission a black gay guy with those views to tweet with his iPhone at 8:48 am? Were you there?

“Antifa does something similar too. It lifts up literal nazi’s as the ideal and says that people who don’t want to live in a fascist autocracy actually do want to live in a fascist autocracy, so long as the fascist autocrats in charge are the anti-fascists protesting in the streets against having a fascist autocracy-” [BRAIN EXPLODES FROM PROJECTION OVERLOAD].

Dean Browning walks into a Lehigh County GOP meeting, wearing a bag over his head.

“Hi, I’m a black gay guy.”

    head bounces off sidewalk

So, he might learn something eventually.

I’ve never heard of him before.
Looks like a clone of Rush Limbaugh without the lung cancer. Boring and a waste of time.
Or maybe Jordan Peterson, without the drug addiction (yet).

I will say that most feminists are way better than James Lindsay.
Most women are better than James Lindsay.
Most men are also better than James Lindsay.

Guy looks like a bottom of the barrel right wingnut with no accomplishments of his own and nothing original or interesting to say.

Well, at least Dean shows what his priorities are. While ignoring Lehigh County’s 1775 COVID-19 cases.
Frankly, he needs to go out and lick strangers nostrils on the COVID floor.

James Lindsey was also co-author with Helen Pluckrose of that abominable article that asserted that only extreme trans* advocates who think pronoun misuse should be a criminal offense and extreme TERFs have been allowed to speak publicly on trans* issues in recent years, and that as a result the world was suffering.

BUT! The article continued, Brave Lindsey & Pluckrose were here to speak up despite the terrible social consequences and put forth the only rational take on trans* rights.

That was the first time they made it onto my radar. I was appalled. I thought they were anything but rational. I thought they were arrogant as fuck. I thought they were bone ignorant.

In sum, I drastically overestimated them.

“Regarding the tweet that is going viral from my account — I was quoting a message that I received earlier this week from a follower,” Browning tweeted. “Sorry if context was not clear.”

    Right. Just so it’s clear:

I am Dean Browning a lame ass Republican in Pennsylvania. I write stupid tweets sometimes and make up even stupider excuses for them.

This requires some context. Browning mailed me the above statement and insisted that I post it to PZ’s blog.

Isn’t this just penis envy dressed up with a lot of extra words and extrapolated to every marginalized group he can think of?

I wondered if this guy was related to Hal Linsay or even the same guy I had to look up not that i could see but they share the same thinking ability maybe kind of hard to tell what with ghost writers for hal and jim being brain dead

Also, dear James Lindsay, I have been a woman for a long time now, and I have seen what you guys think “men” and “masculinity” mean, and I can tell you, I want nothing to do with it.
Most traits you praise as masculine are either plain bullying, or self destructive, or both.
I’ll keep the power tools, though. AND the proper protection to use them safely, because my ego can take wearing headphones and goggles.

I apologize if I’m stating the obvious, but any such comments starting with: “As a(n) [X person], I think…” Or “I am a(n) [X person] and I think…” is usually a huge and transparent giveaway.

    Phrenotopian, indeed.

“On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog”.

But generally, one can’t actually know.
Thus, one must go by context, by experience, by vibes.
Those are all just heuristics, alas.
