After all, he got to have dinner with both Dawkins and Hitchens, at the same time. Simultaneously. Like they were in the same room having a conversation. That would have been an interesting table.
Cowan also has video of Dawkins’ talk at Kepler’s Bookstore—and yeah, P-Zed is mentioned, inducing a few blushes from 1500+ miles away.

One does not have a conversation with Christopher Hitchens. You sit there and listen for an hour or two.

Well, it would be interesting to attempt to listen to Dawkins while Hitch drank the reataurant dry, made a grope at the server, and swept away all the dishes in order to claim the tablecloth as his toga for some slurry stentorian speechmaking before passing out on the dessert cart, although perhaps not very edifying.

Or an irreducible dessert with Behe.

PZ, if you were more of a Braggart than a Haughty Intellectual, you’d be able to come right out and say that Cowan includes you in his Top Ten List of the World’s Most Influential Living Atheists.
Cowan’s list includes Pinker, Harris, Jillette, Shermer, Randi, Sweeney, Kurtz and PZ Myers!

I don’t think i’d be capable of being in such close proximity to that vile neocon-apologist Hitchens without either a) taking a swing at him or b) attempting to goad the besotted oaf into doing something extreme enough to land him in the drunk tank.
Being that I’m a generally decent person and would feel terrible after the fact for doing such a thing, I’d be forced to turn down any social situation that involved Hitchens, even having dinner with Dawkins.
Paguroidea says
I’d certainly jump at the chance to have dinner with Dawkins and Hitchens!!! I can’t believe David managed to have dinner with both of them. I think having dinner with just one of them would be out of this world.

PZ,
Hearing your name associated with humility is a lot like hearing you addressed as Father PZ Myers.
Alan Kellogg says
Djur,
I have bad news for you. Nixon won in ’72.
Monado says
The video of Richard Dawkins was interesting; I also enjoyed the introduction.
Alan, PZ is a father three times over. :-)

DAVID COWAN @#10:
You blew it, buddy.
Strike 1: If you followed the link, you’d see that the David Cowan referred to here lives in the USA. Given that a name like yours has got to be about as common as John Smith, who would really confuse the two of you?
Strike 2: Neither here nor at the handful of other places where David Cowan is referred to or submitted comments is he ‘maligned’. Here, he is genuinely envied for having shared time with two people most of us at this site admire.
Strike 3: An all-caps post is a sign of at best a boor but more likely a raving flake who should be avoided.
Any potential customers you were trying to woo will, I predict, now know to avoid you. Congrats!
