There’s some pulse-pounding high speed insect racing action going on in this animation, and one excellent dipteran crash, but otherwise, not much resolution to the story, and the nice spider gets shafted.
There doesn’t seem to be a recent cephalopod entry on which to hang my post and link, but at least this item is in the entertainment category.
Here is something PZ probably missed seeing this new year (click on the spoiler link for pictures). This lovely critter hangs from ceilings, stands up on its own, crawls round walls and all manner of surfaces in pursuit of humans.

Thanks for the link – that was most excellent!

Jonathan,
Compared to the drivel that passes for entertainment on commercial television this was pure genius! Anyway did you ever watch any cartoons growing up? BTW the spider and the ladybug kinda reminded me of Wile E.Coyote and the Roadrunner.
Though I think the ladybug was a little more malicious.

Cute. What’s the music and who gets credit for it?
Jonathan Lubin says
Sorry, but I thought it was insufferably stupid. Too long, too.
Julie Stahlhut says
Awwww, poor spider. Maybe there’ll be a sequel?
