A Turkish man electrocuted his wife for giving birth to a female baby

A Turkish man electrocuted his wife.

A Turkish man is charged with electrocuting his wife as punishment for giving birth to a girl — while on the phone to police who failed to avert the crime, media reported Friday.
The 29-year-old from southeastern Diyarbakir province does not deny murdering his wife by placing a live electric cable under her chin as she slept, a day after their second baby girl was born in January.
The Vatan newspaper published on its front page a transcript of a telephone call he placed to police in which he announced his murderous intent, in real time.
“I killed someone,” the man told the police operator, according to the transcript.
“Who did you kill?” asked the officer on the other end.
“I am killing my wife right now,” said the man.
“Did you kill her or are you killing her?” the officer asked.
“Well, she isn’t dead yet. But I am killing her if the murder is halal (permissible in Islam),” the man replied.
The officer then asked if the suspect had a problem with his wife.
“I am telling you that I killed my wife but you are asking what the problem was,” the man replied.
“I closed her mouth as she is in the throes of death,” he then said.
At which point the police operator snapped into action: “OK, wait. I am sending a unit”.
A defence lawyer told the court at a hearing Wednesday that his client killed his wife because she gave birth to “a girl once again”.
The suspect, a waiter at a local restaurant in the Kurdish-majority region, also has a four-year-old daughter.
A defense lawyer at a court hearing on Wednesday criticised police for failing to talk the suspect out of his crime.
“If a police officer with a high persuasive capacity and training were on the phone, (the woman) would be alive today”.
The case was the latest example of what rights activists say is a failure by EU hopeful Turkey to protect women from domestic violence.

Men hate women for giving birth to female babies. Men hate female babies, men hate anything female, men often rape them and kill them. Men hate women so much that they often beat women up, torture women, abuse women, assault women, burn women to death, stone women to death, cut women into pieces,

Men killed 214 women and 10 children in Turkey last year. Men will continue killing this year.

We are not proud of Turkey. Not anymore.

Once upon a time, we were proud of Turkey for its secular ideas. We used to read a poem that was in our syllabus. The great Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam wrote a poem congratulating Turkey’s great leader Mustafa Kemal for dismantling the Turkish caliphate and the powerful Khilafat movement.

‘Oi ksepechhey pagli ma-er damal chheley Kamal bhai,
Oshur-purey shore uthechhey shamal shamal tai.

Kamal, tu ne kamal kiya bhai !
Ho Ho Kamal, tu ne kamal kiya bhai!’

(Yonder, brothers, the raving mom’s indomitable
son Kamal has become enraged
That’s why, in the abode of demons, there is an uproar
‘Be ware,’ ‘Be on guard’!

Kamal, you have achieved unbelievable success, brother!
Ho Ho, Kamal, you have achieved unbelievable success, brother!)

The secular Turkey is now walking backwards towards the dark ages. It sentenced a renowned pianist Fazil Say for his tweets and sayings based on his belief in atheism.

World-renowned Turkish pianist Fazıl Say, who was sentenced to 10 months in prison for blasphemy in April, was again sentenced to 10 months by an Istanbul court today in a retrial.

Say had received a suspended 10-month prison sentence on charges of “insulting religious beliefs held by a section of the society,” for re-tweeting several lines, which are attributed to poet Omar Khayyam.

Say’s lawyers had demanded his suspension be canceled. His demand had been accepted by the court, and the court had paved the way for Say to be re-tried.

The 19th Istanbul Peace Court sentenced Say to 10 months in prison but since Say has no criminal record, the court suspended the sentence and ordered supervised liberty.

If Say does not commit another crime within two years, the case will be dropped.

The pianist will be able to appeal the verdict at the Supreme Court of Appeals.

Say was convicted after retweeted the several lines attributed to poet Omar Khayyam: “You say its rivers will flow in wine. Is the Garden of Eden a drinking house? You say you will give two houris to each Muslim. Is the Garden of Eden a whorehouse?”

Turkey should release Fazil Say unconditionally and now. Turkey should respect everyone’s right to freedom of expression. Turkey should know that everybody has the right to blaspheme. Blasphemy should not be considered a crime in Turkey.

Turkey was an ideal country progressive people used to be proud of. But no one now is proud of Turkey. Not anymore.

Doomsday!

Almost 80% of Egyptian Muslims say they favour religious freedom and a similar number favour sharia law. Of that group, almost 90% also think people who renounce Islam should be put to death.

Probably we do not expect much from Afghanistan and Pakistan. But What about Bangladesh? Atheists and Islamists have recently been fighting in that country, officially people’s republic with a bizarre state religion. I have no idea whether Bangladesh showed the same conservatism like Egypt or liberal like Turkey. If you do not secularize your country for decades, you will get a disturbing data soon or later. Mubarak didn’t actually do much for secularization. If he did, Egypt would not have become a country of Islamists so quickly. Ex-communist countries are showing the best results so far. Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Russia, Albania are making a bit of sense than most Muslim countries. It is the reward of practicing atheism during communist era. Turkey is also better than many others. It is the result of, I believe, Kamal Ataturk’s efforts on secularization of Turkey that started almost a century ago.

You are wrong if you believe you as an authority should continue building religious schools and prayer halls and continue indoctrinating people to accept that ‘god exists, religion is true, it is a crime to hurt anyone’s religious feelings, infidels should die,’ but people should not turn to be religious terrorists.

Islamic countries are shifting themselves away from the civilized world. They will soon be an isolated monster with their sharia laws and laws against blasphemy. They will either destroy the entire world or they will be destroyed by themselves. It is so alarming!

I know it is politically incorrect to say against democracy. But I am not worried for being called incorrect. The truth is, I sometimes think democracy is not good for some countries, specially not for Muslim countries, where most people are brainwashed with Islamic doctrine. I know I am wrong, I am going against people’s freedom. I must not deny even the brainwashed people’s right to choose. But I can not totally wipe out my thoughts, that, it would be ultimately good for Muslim countries if they get dedicated and honest, non-corrupt and super-strict atheist or secular dictators. May be they do not want to be good. They want to be worst. They want to make their wheels go backwards. I am just a stupid dreamer!

The world is changed.

The world is changed. We sane people get harassed, arrested, jailed, killed not because of our big books anymore but for our facebook or twitter one-liners. Fazil Say, a Turkish pianist, is sentenced to prison for a tweet.

In one tweet, Fazil Say joked about Azan, a call to prayer that he said lasted only 22 seconds. Say tweeted: “Why such haste? Have you got a mistress waiting or a raki on the table?” Raki is a traditional alcoholic drink made with aniseed. Islam forbids alcohol and many Islamists consider the remarks unacceptable.

The charges against Say also cited other tweets he sent, including one – based on a verse attributed to famous medieval poet Omar Khayyam – that questioned whether heaven was a tavern or a brothel, because of the promises that wine will flow and each believer will be greeted by virgins.

It is indeed a sad day for Turkey, once a secular state.

And in India, another secular state, a criminal case was filed on the charges of hurting religious feelings of people and a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against me because of my tweet. The tweet was very innocent and simple: ‘Muslim women deserve to have sex with 72 virgin men on earth as they won’t get these things in heaven’.

The protectors of Islam have become the funniest jokers of the world.

Don’t be so stupid, Turkey!

The 13th-century Church of Hagia Sophia in the Black Sea city of Trabzon, which has been a museum and contains irreplaceable examples of its time period – will be converted to a mosque.

There is also a plan to rebuild a mosque on the ruins of Istanbul’s St. John Studios Monastery. The Monastery was founded in Constantinople in the middle of the fifth century.

Someone told the truth:

“Islamic supremacists regard the pre-Islamic past of any Muslim country as worthless trash … not to be preserved for its archaeological value, but effaced as an insult to Islam. This is the same impulse that led to the destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan.”

Ah! Don’t be so stupid, Turkey. You have been considered most secular among all Muslim countries. Now you want to be labelled as an insane! There is no pride being like Saudi Arabia or Afghanistan! Ignorant Islamists in those countries destroy the history. As if nothing existed before Islam.
Don’t turn museums into mosques. You have no lack of mosques. Don’t try to wipe out history. History will not forgive you.

You can halt publications of books on evolution. You can not halt evolution!

Daily News:

The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) has put a stop to the publication and sale of all books in its archives that support the theory of evolution, daily Radikal has reported.

The evolutionist books, previously available through TÜBİTAK’s Popular Science Publications’ List, will no longer be provided by the council.

The books have long been listed as “out of stock” on TÜBİTAK’s website, but their further publication is now slated to be stopped permanently.

You are not Turkey’s religious council. You are Turkey’s Scientific and Technical Research Council and you have stopped publishing the books on evolution! I am shocked! You should be ashamed of yourself! Don’t say that you do not believe in evolution!

Nothing is worse than the decision that scientists make to stop believing in science. They can drag society backwards more than the religious bigots.
