A godless band of unrepentant heathens has released a new album — and is donating a portion of the proceeds to the SSA. You can listen to samples and order the album on Amazon. Get more music for your iPod and help atheists at the same time!

For a good cause, as opposed to, sacrilege in a vacuum?

What makes it newsworthy is that proceeds of that album go to the SSA. The fact ‘Words Such As Burn’ is an atheist band is not really the point of the post.

Shit. I though the flashbacks had finally gone away.
No Apple for me either Irene #1!

The music sounds good but I cannot hear the words…which sort of defeats the purpose.
Perhaps some light guitar?

Billyjoe, if you are interested, I just posted lyrics for our atheist song (“Flow”) and our skeptic song (“Fallacy One: Argument from Ignorance”) on the Words Such As Burn Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WordsSuchAsBurn

Really like the “Christian Prayer Center” prayer request ad that accompanies this piece.

Eh, how about just buying an Atheist album and sending an equal amount to the SSA? Atheist is probably _the_ best example of technical, jazz metal in history. If you’re a percussionist or a bassist, especially if you like metal, Unquestionable Presence is a must-have.
Hell, even if you have any familiarity with reading music, time signatures and a bit of theory, you’d recognize the (interesting and non-harmful) insanity of Atheist’s music. And The Psychic Saw has a bit about a minute and twenty seconds in where the band stays completely together despite myself and a number of my musician friends being utterly unable to find the beat.

You can own more than one album last I checked. If you don’t like the WSAB stuff, don’t buy it. Some people happen to like it.
