It is the War Party that runs the US

When it comes to waging war with other countries, we see clearly that what we have in the US is not two parties Democratic and Republican but just a single War Party with two factions. The attack by the US on Iran is yet another example of this. While lower ranking members of Congress are calling for opposition to this blatant unprovoked act of aggression against another nation, the top leadership of both parties are going along with Trump’s war.

AS PRESIDENT DONALD Trump barrels toward a direct war with Iran, the most powerful Democrats in Congress are issuing statements that are at best tepid and confusing. At worst, they are cheering escalation.

Even with some Democrats on Capitol Hill pushing for a War Powers Resolution and other legislation to stop Trump from attacking without congressional approval, the Democratic Party’s most powerful politicians refuse to mount any meaningful opposition to a strike. Many outright favor direct U.S. involvement in yet another regime change war.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the most powerful Democrat in the Senate, where he is the minority leader, presents himself as a major opponent of Trump. As recently as June 15, for example, he boasted about his participation in the No Kings Day mass protest against Trump.

Yet when it comes to the prospect of a direct war with Iran, Schumer is not only supporting Trump, but less than three weeks ago was goading the administration to be “tough” on Iran and not make any “side deals” without Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s approval.

Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., the most powerful Democrat in the House, responded to Israel’s attack with a toothless statement that was vaguely supportive of war and packed with every pro-Israel cliche in the book. “Our commitment to Israel’s security is ironclad,” he said. “It is clear that the Iranian regime poses a grave threat to the entire free world. There is no circumstance where Iran can be permitted to become a nuclear power.”

Israeli prime minister and genocidal war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu has long wanted the US to move from providing massive amounts of arms and financial and diplomatic support for its crimes in the region to getting the US to directly attack countries that it views as its enemy, and in Trump he has found a US president that he can lead by the nose into yet another war. Trump has become yet another war criminal since the act of unprovoked aggression against another country is manifestly a war crime.

A war of aggression, sometimes also war of conquest, is a military conflict waged without the justification of self-defense, usually for territorial gain and subjugation, in contrast with the concept of a just war.

In the judgment of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, which followedWorld War II, “War is essentially an evil thing. Its consequences are not confined to the belligerent states alone, but affect the whole world. To initiate a war of aggression, therefore, is not only an international crime; it is the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”

The US and Israel are rogue nations, acting illegally in the world simply because they feel that they are the most powerful and that no one can respond similarly. At one time, the US tried to provide at least a semblance of cover for its naked aggression against other nations by forming coalitions and going through the pliant United Nations. Now it has discarded any such pretenses to legality and acts openly like a criminal thug nation, wreaking havoc in the rest of the world at the behest of Israel. And predictably, UK prime minister and Labour leader Keir Starmer has revealed himself as Trump’s poodle, providing support and cover for this US aggression, just like Labour prime minister Tony Blair became George W.Bush’s poodle, supporting his war of aggression against Iraq. British prime ministers have repeatedly shown themselves to be shameless lackeys of US presidents.

The news is utterly depressing.

I am by nature a hopeful person, able to find some glimmer of optimism in dark days. I usually wake up each morning thinking of what positive things might happen that day. But these days I wake up with a sense of dread, wondering when I open news sites what I will read about Trump’s wrecking ball doing to the US and what Trump and Netanyahu are doing to the rest of the world. Netanyahu has got his maximal hopes realized, getting the US to act as if it is Israel’s junior partner in committing war crimes.

I could not possibly agree more. I am glad to see someone else pointing out that aggressive war is a war crime. Almost zero (and perhaps exactly zero) MSM commentary has mentioned the inconvenient fact that these attacks upon Iran constitute war crimes.

Not that the US has not done this before. We never learn.

The speed with which we have descended into a fascist dystopia is stunning.

if he reinstated the draft, that might finally give joe knownothing a clue this is bad shit. unfortunately, modern warfare is to just murder a million people by remote control and declare you’ve won, when you’ve done nothing of the sort. that can be done with a small armed force, no draft needed, and this will likely go right over the average american’s head. no small amount of red staters will be cheering this, and will not draw the connection between our nazi-styled war of aggression and the terrorism it will inspire. no, the terrorists “hate our freedom,” just like they did last time.

Say after me: “Primary the warmongers”. Repeat until the midterm election.

Fun fact: penetrating a competently designed deep underground shelter is difficult, even if you drop giant bombs from 30 000 feet. The same principles that applies to modern tank armor also applies to shelters. And the tungsten/depleted uranium missiles travel much faster, yet can be defeated. I will laugh my head off if this attack results in Iran actually getting a working nuclear bomb.

Well, the MAGAts did say if we voted for Harris, we’d have wars. I voted for Harris…and the Mango Manchild just declared war to suck up to Nutty-yahoo.

Saw a YouGov poll of US residents. Only 5% approve of war with Iran.

For comparison, when polled 9% of US residents approve of the Black Death.
