    Certainly looks like it. I spent 2 years modelling the web-building procedures of these beasties back in the 1990s. They were even crosser when we burned away parts of their webs during construction to test the flexibility of their behavioural programs! :-p

    We have orb weaver spiders in Australia too although different species from this one. Cool critters!

    Had at my house and their webs light up and then show up rather spectacularly when photographed at night /low light one early morning in case that’s of any interest / use. (Point & shoot pretty average camera with flash on FWIW.)
