Vance Boelter is cooked. You can see a detailed list of all the evidence he left in his wake, as he fled, and it’s overwhelming. This is going to be a short trial.
I was horrified at the glimpse of the contents of his car.
Who lives like this? If your car contains four (at least) rifles on your seats and stuffed loosely into plastic buckets, your life has taken a sad and desperate turn. When he set off on his shameful tour of legislators’ homes, he could have just looked to his right and seen that he was a wrong, fucked-up person.
Gun culture is fucked up. I’m sure plenty see the arsenal as normal and/or praiseworthy.
He was one well-regulated militiaman, wasn’t he?
To be fair, you never know when the government is going to go rogue, using masked men to haul people off the streets, including US senators and other elected officials, into detention camps with abetted by the use of military personnel. You need to stay ready.
Having your guns unsecured like that should make no sense even to a gun nut. Breaking a car window and grabbing something takes seconds.
Of course if you’re about to murder people and haven’t arranged for convenient excuses like so-called “stand your ground” laws then you probably aren’t concerned someone will steal your guns and commit crimes with them

Oh, by no means. The Supreme Court has ruled that even though the full text of the 2nd Amendment contains three commas, only the first and the third function as commas. The middle comma is more like a paragraph separator, so the first part of the single sentence of the amendment and the second part of the single sentence of the amendment are two entirely disconnected ideas. Really, it’s extremely silly to even think the Constitution Framers wanted that one sentence to be treated as a single thought, doncha know?
I heard that his wife has been released even though she had all the paraphernalia to help him escape capture and maybe flee the country.
That’s just what this nation needs: MORE GUNS. (sarcasimus maximus)

I reply: Larry, I think we’ve already seen enough to know we are NOW in the midst of that debacle.
Just more symptoms of how badly this country is f*cked!
The guns are fucked up, but the mess may not be his. Remember when Trump complained that the FBI spread the stolen government documents across the floor and made it look messy? This may be similar.

“Before Vance Boelter was accused of killing a Democratic state lawmaker, he had an active, even grandiose, religious life.
With the suspect accused of killing Minnesota’s Democratic house leader and her husband now in custody, investigators will have a long list of questions to ask about what the alleged shooter believes. The emerging biography of Vance Boelter suggests a partial answer, one that involves his contact with a charismatic Christian movement whose leaders speak of spiritual warfare, an army of God, and demon-possessed politicians, and which has already proved, during the January 6 insurrection, its ability to mobilize followers to act.”
