We have committed to a real estate agent. He thinks my mother’s house will be on the market within a few weeks.
I signed up a cleaning service who will sweep in on Wednesday, and reduce all the rooms to bare walls.
All bank accounts closed.
Hey, remember, I’m a college professor teaching a couple of courses? I got a lot of grading done today, too.
Now I get to go home. My flight leaves at 8am, so I’ve got to be out of here at 5. My flight is nonstop, but once I get to MSP I’ll have to wait a few hours for a shuttle, then sit in a van for longer than I was on the flight. I won’t be home until midnight.
I might just sleep all day on Sunday.

Grats.
It’s one of those things that you only ever do once in your life, and it’s meet that it be done best as you can.

PZ, I imagine that was not only a lot of physical and logistical work, but emotionally stressful also. Your trip home sounds like a tiresome patchwork effort. But, you’ve earned some rest/sleep. Take care of yourself.

Jeez… I feel for you PZ. Traveling from St.Paul-ish to N. Idaho is a pain in the ass. I try to do Amtrak if I have the time, but that’s usually a 2am arrival in Spokane, and a 2 hour drive to Moscow.
At least Pullman-Moscow airport can handle 737s now, so it’s just 6 miles instead of 80. And I don’t have to deal with I-94 from Morris, so I’ll shut up now… safe travels.

At least you didn’t have to hire a law firm to deal with a grifting sibling telling them “we may be obliged to notify the IRS about your unreported income.”

We recently made the trip from Monterey, CA to Middletown, NY to attend my husband’s 50th class reunion.
It was three flights, and the airline scheduled us with tight turn-arounds for each connection.
That was made even tougher with the fact that I’m severely mobility impaired.
I really don’t know how we managed to not miss a flight.
We will be returning in the spring when our grandson graduates from SUNY at White Plains.
I’ve convinced my husband that we should take the airport shuttle to either San Jose or San Francisco, spend the night in a nearby hotel, and then take a more direct flight to Westchester airport (15 minutes from the campus).
He finally agreed to it!
