Paying for a subscription to a gay porn magazine provides financial support to the gay community, So anybody who does that deserves a better thank-you, I think.
If someone’s asking for Christian advertising to be sent to someone who is clearly not going to convert, and not covering the full costs of that themselves, it’s diverting financial support from things more likely to convert someone to Christianity and thus also a good thing worthy of proper thanks.

Those christian periodicals are generally commercial, so the same points on providing financial support very much apply here. Free advertisements are one thing (and do divert financial support), but the periodicals fit the paid subscription model.
