The prophet who couldn’t shoot straight

Read about the real goings-on at the Bundy Ranch. Racism is just one of the lunacies on parade. GOOGLE DOCTORS THAT REMOVE MICROCHIPS. The summary:

Welfare negroes, the United Nations, sexually devious lawyers, satan, a Chinese solar farm, microchips, secret-agent NPS, a Muslim-Kenyan president, hippies, illegals. Take your pick.

Also revealing, and very Mormon: Bundy cast himself as a divinely inspired prophet of god who was delivering instructions to his people, instructing them in the prophecies they were supposed to follow, and chastising them for failing.

He goes on to explain that, although they managed to deter the BLM, they failed to do it “within one hour,” as the revelation had prophesied. So when an hour passes, he decides to get in his bulldozer and march on the BLM himself. The dozer gets stuck in the mud and he receives another revelation.

“It come to my mind real plain — the good Lord said, ‘Bundy, it’s not your job, it’s THEIR job.’ So we come back over here and heard that they had brought some cattle back. So I want you to understand,” addressing the crowd, “This is not my job, it’s YOUR job.

It’s a real comic opera. It’s too bad these kinds of clowns have successfully inserted themselves into American politics.

I feel a little sorry for Bundy, in a weird way. He’s a deluded old man, apparently living in isolation for far too long.

I think it’s OK. He’s imploding quite beautifully, which means he’s more or less trolling the right-wing to see who’s nuts enough to support him. He’ll be an embarrassment around their necks forever. Someone needs to make sure he can afford to go to the RNC next election.

You all are missing the most important feature here.

Bundy is on the verge of becoming a star. <b.This means Big Money!!! Huge amounts of money. Oceans of money.

There is a lot of money to be made as a thief, racist, lying, deluded, cuckoo hater.

    EVIDENCE:

    1. Glenn Beck. In a few short years after Fox News terminated him, he has made $100 million with his websites etc.

    2. Sarah Palin. Coming up with a word salad now and then has been quite profitable.

    3. Bristol Palin. Spending 15 minutes in the back of a car with some guy she didn’t know very well has provided her with a kid and a nice living.

    4. Pat Robertson. A billionaire. AFAICT, Robertson is a Zombie and they occasionally inject him with Reanimation Serum, point him in some direction, and hope he doesn’t say something really stupid.

    5. Ann Coulter, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, everyone at Fox NonNews.

    6. This list could go on for pages and pages.

I feel a little sorry for Bundy, in a weird way.

Sorry Trebuchet. You are almost certainly a normal person making an honest living somehow who means well. And a year from now Bundy will be able to buy and sell you many times over.

BTW, this Mormony I’m a prophet now and god wants you to send me money act, should make the Mormon leadership a bit uneasy.

    1. It’s an authoritarian mind control cult, controlled from the top down.

    2. They already have a pope in SLC, the chief Prophet, Seer, and Revelator who talks with god and jesus all the time.

    3. Quite often, other Mormons discover how easy it is to become a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and talk to god and jesus. The fact is, anyone can do it!!! It’s easy.

AFAWK, they are all making it up as they go along. Even if some of them have been brainwashed to believe it.

    4. The result has been a huge number of schisms within the Mormon church. There are at least a hundred splits. Most of them are really ugly small polygamist cults like the FLDS. Since the Mormon popes conflict with each other, there have been wars between them in the late 20th century that killed dozens of people.

Speaking of prophecies, I’m getting one now. The cat wants in, open the door. Oh, it is just Bast again, the Egyptian cat goddess.

raven @#9 is absolutely right, mormons leaders have always had a hard time limiting the powers of prophecy and revelation to only their top boil-brained canker blossoms. Joe Smith even had to clarify once by saying that he had received a revelation that only he was allowed to receive revelations.

Interesting to see Cliven Bundy blaming his followers, not himself, when any of his prophecies or revelations fall short.

Also the BLM is reeeaally part of the UN:

A militia member with the group Oath Keepers named Mark, who drove in from out of state by way of Zion National Park (“which was absolutely beautiful — you should go”), offers to explain to me the truth behind public land management.

“The assumption is that the BLM is part of the federal government. But we need to check the facts on that one. The BLM doesn’t work for the government: they work for the United Nations. They might as well be wearing blue helmets. If we find out there’s money being exchanged between Harry Reid and the Chinese government, no one should be surprised.”

Lynna linked recently to this Maddow segment, which is twenty minutes of disturbing history connecting Bundy’s views directly to Reconstruction and the posse comitatus movement.

    http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/watch/radical-racist-context-missed-in-rancher-hype-236481603620

Summarized with further discussion in Salon:

Although it was not her stated purpose, the tale she told clearly connects negative attitudes toward blacks with hostility to big government — and it connects both to a specific history and mythology that Cliven Bundy is part of. Maddow explained how the tightly intertwined sovereign citizen and posse comitatus movements — both represented by Cliven Bundy and his supporters — descended from the post-Civil War South’s first successful roll-back of federal troops protecting African-Americans and defending the Civil War Amendments: the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 (which opened the way for establishing Southern segregation and the violent suppression of black rights in the South) and the hard-right anti-government Posse Comitatus organization founded in its name by William Potter Gale, among others, in the 1970s. Maddow’s concise history touched on the violent shootouts involving Gordon Kahl, as well as Ruby Ridge and the Oklahoma City bombing — Maddow noted that Timothy McVeigh was apprehended because he was driving a truck without any license plates, “because sovereign citizens don’t believe in license plates.”

Maddow made it clear that she didn’t believe that Fox News and the conservative media more generally were hyping Cliven Bundy “because he is a posse comitatus guy,” she said, “but somebody should have noticed that he kept bringing this stuff up.”

Cliven Bundy’s racist comments about “the Negro” actually express concepts that are mainstream within the Republican and/or conservative movements. Bundy just failed to use the correct euphemisms. He wasn’t careful enough.

Walter Williams, a conservative economist at George Mason University, who told the Wall Street Journal that “The welfare state has done to black Americans what slavery couldn’t do … that is to destroy the black family.” Likewise, there’s Star Parker—a frequent speaker at conservative gatherings like CPAC and the Values Voter Summit—whose Uncle Sam’s Plantation argues the same.

As a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor in Virginia, E.W. Jackson told his supporters that “slavery did not destroy the black family … government did that,” and last year, FreedomWorks—a Tea Party group—released a documentary called Runaway Slave, which details the “Democratic plantation” of welfare and entitlement benefits, used to lure African-Americans away from the Republican Party. And key to the narrative is the idea that these benefits ruined black families, succeeding where slavery failed.

    Slate link.

  24. unclefrogy says

I’m glad to get that straightened out! So it was welfare and it’s Allie unemployment that is destroying the negro family and not poverty and systematic discrimination.
Glad to see it explained and that it was also the reason the the GOP has done so poorly with regards to the “black vote” and that it has nothing to do with the “southern strategy” of supporting the racists fight against the liberal democrats.

    it so counter intuitive

    re 26:
[to rephrase @26:] Conservawonks say “A is worse than B”, but Bundy went off the script by saying “B is better than A.” His SIN was saying the word “better”, Conservowonks are mandated to always say “worse”. *That* is important to keep their potential Conservoes Angry; negative words cue negative emotions, positive words cue positive emotions; regardless of the target. They want everyone to be angry, cuz both A and B are bad things, but saying B is better than A, distorts the emotional response. To keep the audience angry, it’s important to emphasize that A is WORSE than B. Bundy mangled the script and caused the Conservoes to disown him. All the Liberoes anger at the mention that B is better than A swayed the Conservoes not in the least; they disregard the Liberoes entirely, but the Conservoes are so authoritarian that to mangle their script is irredeemable.

The militia idiot in the quote Pteryxx posted is looking in the wrong direction. If the Chinese are giving money to American politicians it’s likely going to be the right wing crankosphere types. Of course like all conspiracy mongers he’ll never consider the idea that the conspiracy theories he’s being fed are to benefit some other conspiracy.

The conspiracy theory that chips have been or will be embedded in everyone’s head is having a measurably negative effect on getting people to sign up for Affordable Health Care:

Health professionals, state officials, social workers, insurance agents and others trying to make the law work for uninsured Americans say the partisan divisions and attack ads have depressed participation in some places. They say the law has been stigmatized for many who could benefit from it, especially in conservative states like West Virginia that have the poorest, most medically underserved populations but where President Obama and his signature initiative are hugely unpopular. From a new Salon article comparing various old white men gone wild with racism:

Comparing the situation of Sterling’s players — talented, wealthy athletes with agents and contracts – to slavery is silly. Still, a twisted and racist paternalism links Cliven Bundy’s slavery rant with Sterling’s talk about his players. “I give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses” is only a few bad leaps of logic away from slavery being good for black people because it gave them “homes with their chickens and their gardens and their children around them, and their man having something to do.” In both cases, black people are simple, passive, and not entirely capable of caring for themselves. They should be grateful for the good will of the men who exploit their labor and accept their position at the bottom of society, because they’re not meant for more than that. […]

I’m posting this mostly because it makes a good point about the paternalism behind Cliven Bundy’s racism.
