As you all know by now, the last couple of days worth of entries got totally munged up by the server upgrade — comments lost, comments moved to the wrong article, whole articles vanishing. I am greatly annoyed and mystified, since a server move shouldn’t be generating so much thrashing chaos.
I’ve been told the uncertainties have been mostly fixed up and things should work normally now, although the entries since last Friday afternoon are kind of a shambles still. I’m going to put up a few things today, but I’m taking it slow — I really don’t trust this piece of crap right now.
Seeing as how your post is dated 11/13/11 at 1:35 pm, and it’s 8:49 am on the east coast as i write this, you may be dealing with some Time Cube Issues. Can you send me some info on today’s NFL results a little later?
No, the posting times, for both PZ and the responses, use Universal Time. PZ in Morris, MN, is UT -6, so he posted at 7:35 am local time.
Quantum fluctuation!!! Choopra was right!!!!
Dang, mess up blockquote and didn’t preview (bad Nerd!). My #2 was in response to SKMarshall #1
Clearly, the temporal discrepancy pointed out above is due not to time zone issues, but to time itself being made up of wibbly wobbly timey wimey bits. This means that from this day forth, logic on pharyngula must run backward. In other words, we have to assume the conclusion before we can find the conclusion.
I predict NoR will quote this post soon.
Ah. Good. I was afraid I was having a psychotic break.
That’s okay, PZ. I’m playing Skyrim, anyway.
If I’m up to the form I was before breakfast, it will be on the wrong thread (and blog) as total non sequitur. The quoted material in #2 was from SciBlogs, a discussion about a creobot’s thinking, where faith is needed before god can be proven…typical godbot BS.
Audley – we got Skyrim too, son has been playing it pretty much nonstop. They went and got it at midnight and everything.
NoR:
I just assumed that “assum[ing] the conclusion before we can find the conclusion” was an amazingly apt statement for an IT issue.
Universal Time! Universal Time! Every single post has some idiot pointing out that the time is six hours ahead! Is it really that hard to figure out? The internet is more than America!
Carlie:
Mr Darkheart would be playing it non-stop, too, if I wasn’t making him do other stuff*. I refuse to be a Skyrim widow. :P
I’ve been playing a bit while he’s busy, but I won’t be able to really get into until he’s done.
*Dinner with my family, grocery shopping, etc. OH, THE HORRORS!
Like everyone else, I’m praying for the issues to be resolved.
The hell with it, I’m just not going to comment.
Oh, wait…
