Those of you wondering about a Gathering of the Horde in Texas…yes. Saturday, after the free thought banquet, we’ll meet in the Hyatt hotel bar, from say, 7:30 or 8 until whenever. Stop on by. I’ll be all done with all my labors at the convention, so I’ll be ready for entertainment and relaxation.
I didn’t realize how late the banquet goes on. It’ll be more like 9pm, at the lobby bar of the Hyatt Regency Houston on Louisiana street — and of course, you don’t need convention admission to attend.

If you are in need of sustenance any evening, I heartily recommend the restaurant Feast:
It’s about 1.5 miles away from your hotel. You can eat with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls……. any restaurant that serves “warm fat on toast” is a must-visit……
Mmm, I’d love to see what the spread looks like at a ‘free thought banquet.’
A sampling of different species’ brains, perhaps?

I don’t post often, but I’ve been reading your blog for quite some time. It is quite exciting to have the freethought community drop by our neck of the woods. Though unfortunately I will be unable to attend, I would be honored to meet you afterwards at the Hyatt bar, time permitting. Which Hyatt will you guys be at?

I’ll be there! Happy Monkey!
Met PZ yesterday. He is taller than I expected him to be. He gave a fun talk about how mutations contribute variation for natural selection to work on.
And I met Sastra. If you imagined that Sastra is awesome IRL, you imagined right.

It’s the downtown Hyatt Regency, on Louisiana.

Hmm… meeting at 7:30 or 8 p.m. would involve skipping Dawkins’s keynote.
But I figure the party will still be going strong at 9.
Aw! Wish I could be there. Alas, I’m stuck in Dallas grading papers for my TA position. Boo.
