Frank Coniff and Kevin McDonald sold me on the show. My favorite 90′s memories were centered around what those two were a part of.

PZ, I feel all warm and fuzzy upon discovering you’re a Jhonen-stuff fan. We are pleased.

    Oh. Happy day thing.

What a lovely collection of quotes from The Poopyhead.

I noticed a reference to Keith O’Brien, which prompts me to post this update:

Cardinal Keith O’Brien, the UK’s most senior Roman Catholic cleric, was forced by the Vatican to resign, and this week, conceded that “there have been times that my sexual conduct has fallen below the standards expected of me as a priest, archbishop and cardinal”

The quote posted in the birthday celebration from Iris Vander Pluym:

He [Cardinal Keith O’Brien] also claimed that homosexuality is against “natural law”. Natural law seems to be very poorly enforced in this case, then, and besides, you want to know what really defies natural law? Celibacy. -PZ Myers

I say we find out what would it take to get this produced.

@Lynna – thanks. I really like that quote, though. I could make the reference to our non-celibate Cardinal friend more generic while still staying true to its original meaning, like this:

He [the Cardinal] also claimed that homosexuality is against “natural law”. Natural law seems to be very poorly enforced in this case, then, and besides, you want to know what really defies natural law? Celibacy.

Dog knows O’Brien’s not the only Cardinal who has spewed the “natural law” line. Think that works?

Wait. Are you trying to guilt us all into writing blog posts about your birthday in order to force the entire internet to party down in you honor?

    Well, it won’t work! Pbbbbblt!

Nope, no blog posts in your honor today, PZ. None whatsoever.

(I saw a recipe for squid pie at one point, and Korean squid pancakes are excellent, so that isn’t as bizarre as it may seem)

After congratulating, may I dampen the joy a bit?

    – A month or two ago you told us that the creationists were taking over the comment section of Sb Pharyngula. No longer. The spambots have taken over.
    – While you post about argonaut babies, Jadehawk has an adorable Çaturday* post on her blog. I’m totally telling on her.

    * …That looks so Turkish. X-)

I had the coolest birthday present for you PZ, all wrapped up pretty with a sniny bow on top, but this guy stole it.

So does that make I Feel Sick, Filler Bunny, and Squee the hadiths/talmud of your faith? (I assume the Bad Art Collection is the Satanic Verses :P )
