Funny thing is, everyone seemed happy with the system when it produced a black president and looked like delivering a woman. I didn’t hear the right whining then that it was “broken”.

Perhaps you didn’t listen close enough? The system has always been broken, but in general there aren’t as many complaints when the popular vote agrees with the election outcome. And currently, the system being manipulated to heavily favour the ruling party, it is all the more obvious how broken it is. It’s like the founding fathers didn’t anticipate what is possible today.

One link then, please, to a commentator from the right using the word “broken” in reference to the political system while Obama was in. Or Bill Clinton for that matter.

That is all they did.
There were constant references to the next Civil War.
Occupation of the Malheur National …

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks extremist groups, estimates there were 276 active militias last year, up from 42 in 2008. In recent years, armed groups have confronted federal authorities in a series of land-use disputes in the western United States.Nov 2, 2016
Just what do you think those armed militia group’s goals are?

I don’t see that it is our political system that is broken. It’s more like our entire society is broken.
No document or form of government is idiot proof.
As Bush accidently got right, the US Constitution really is just a piece of paper.
It’s the people behind it and under it that give it the force of law.
Don’t forget that Hitler took power in an advanced, highly civilized country
more or less legally.
If enough people want a society to go backwards, then it goes backwards.

If you’re interested, there have been complaints about “tyrants in black robes” after the supreme court makes a ruling the right disagrees with. That would be an easy search term to find lots of conservative pundits complaining of a broken system.
Or is your issue not with the concept of “broken,” but the specific word?
What does sonofrojblake think the right has been doing when they’ve been pushing the “illegal votes” nonsense for as many years as they have? Yes, there are those who know they are selling bullshit, but there have been plenty who believe it. The Republican presidential candidate has won the popular vote only once after 1988, and conservatives keep convincing themselves that they are the “silent majority”. One thing they don’t have a problem with? The broken electoral college that has helped them reshape society beyond any mandate they have been given.
“Funny thing is, everyone seemed happy with the system when it produced a black president and looked like delivering a woman.”
And a Republican senate that blocked every damned thing that black president wanted to do, including keeping a LOT of judicial openings unfilled so that a GOP president could fill them.
