This is an interesting bit of sarcasm, and it does present an interesting conundrum. Being poor is a relative term, consequently, there will always be a relative amount of poor people. Eliminating poor people at a given point could also reduce long term productivity, new household creation and long term aggregate demand for products. This is a very entertaining clip, and it does make me think about other possible solutions.
