I didn’t get shot

It was a bad day for a protest: -10°C (what is that in F? about 15,16°), 40km/hr winds, blowing snow, near blizzard conditions, roads slick and icy, yet there they were, a dozen brave individuals standing out there in Cyrus, Minnesota, getting frostbit to protest the criminal regime of corrupt murderers and liars in this country.

Yikes, but it was cold.

We had a few assholes in pickup trucks drive by and make rude gestures, and a few people just stared stonily straight ahead to avoid acknowledging us, but the majority of the passers-by would wave or honk their horns for the cause.

And then I had to drive home and struggle to keep in my lane while the wind tried to push me into a ditch. Worth it, though.

    A smart villain would have consulted lawyers about what to say. Dumb villains are too arrogant.

    Since the other ICE/DHS a-holes are covering up for Ross, they should be arrested and charged as accessories to murder.

    It would be a terrible shame if they were “shot while trying to escape” also, too.

    Sadly, there is, and has been for years, a sizeable percentage of Americans who simply want those they perceive as ‘liberals’ to be executed. No justification necessary.

    The murderer is a local sadly. He will be prosecuted, just like the POS who murdered George Floyd.

    Good on you PZ for protesting despite that vicious cold wind. The rain yesterday was also very unpleasant, but solidarity is more important. We aren’t snowflakes, we are glaciers, and we are going to remake the landscape.

    Glad the protest went off ok despite the weather.

    Maybe driving two hours each way to go to the protest tomorrow isn’t such a good idea unless the weather really improves?

    Yeah, I came to the same conclusion. Driving 15 minutes was surprisingly scary today, I don’t think I’ll risk the roads tomorrow. Not getting shot but wiping out on the road is not a good exchange.

    I met a lone protestor and kept them company at a street corner.

    The minute it was scheduled to start, as I waited to approach from across the intersection, some yahoos stopped their giant pickup in the crosswalk, hooting Trump’s name and queerphobic slurs. They were so desperate to perform, they harassed a random pedestrian for all they knew. Or maybe they were targeting the guy with the sign, and I was a casualty of their general disregard for crosswalks. I couldn’t see faces cuz their door was at eye level.

    I kinda like Jesse Ventura’s anger here. The incident could have been personal to him more if he wasn’t so so oddly aloof. But we need more angry Jesse Ventura. I could see him side by side with PZ without championing another governor run. Both PZ and Ventura are pissed. It would be cool to see Jesse put the body more into the fray, but it was his high school and at the end of the day he’s as pissed as we are. I hope Jesse has time to bleed:

    There are reports circulating about a Customs & Border Patrol practice that was reported about 10 years ago. Agents would step in front of vehicles to justify shooting at the passengers. It is reported that Ross was a CBP agent from 2007 to 2015. This is from the American Immigration Council from 2014 about the issue: New Directive Clarifies Existing Use of Force Policy at CBP.     Although its hard to know how to stay safe given what the ICE Gestapo thugs and Trumpist Fascists (but I repeat myself) will do to almost anyone for any reason gien they feel confident they’ll get away with it and be defended & blatant lies told and believed in their favour by the eviliest of scum that are now in charge.
