Portland is burning?

The Oregon GOP posted this image on Twitter.

Oh my goodness. I had no idea the anarchy was so bad.

On all three platforms, the statement was illustrated with an image that seemed designed to support Trump’s false claim that protests against immigration sweeps in Portland are so out of control that the city is “burning to the ground”. On one side of the image, a line of police officers held riot shields; on the other, a crowd of young men held up flares that lit up a night sky filled with red smoke.

Except…the police on the left side of the image are Ecuadorian, and the photo was from 2008.

And the fiery protest is a photo from Brazil in 2017.

Do you realize what this means? South America has invaded the United States! The spearhead has been driving up the West coast for the last 17 years, and we’re only finding out now! MAGA was right all along about the Hispanic invasion.

Or, I suppose, it’s possible that Republicans are terrible liars.

The nominal head of our military, Trump, won’t know or care if they are lies.

It is thought that his puppet masters showed him videos from years ago of protests and claimed they were happening now in Portland.

The goal of the National Guard deployments isn’t to prevent violence.
It is to cause more violence.
That is what ICE is doing in Chicago and LA right now.

Not the first time they’ve pulled this. Didn’t Trump post old photos of a crowd at a Rod Stewart concert and claim they were from one of his rallies?

Not the first time they’ve pulled this.

They do this all the time and have for decades.

    A few examples:
.1. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution which was the legal pretext for the Vietnam War.
There were two attacks, the second one in reality, never happened.

.2. The Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.
Most of us were alive and saw this in real time.
They never existed and there was a huge amount of evidence at the time that they didn’t exist.

Bush used this pretext to invade Iraq anyway.

Those drug boats that the Venezuelan drug cartels use that we keep destroying are probably mostly not drug boats.
The first one with 11 (now dead) people was almost certainly not a drug boat. A drug boat woudn’t be carrying 11 people. It was probably ferrying refugees from Venezuela to Trinidad.

I reply: In today’s world of the absurd, BOTH could be true. Although, I would only put money on the ‘Republicans are terrible liars’, if I were a gambling sort of person. Wait, aren’t we all now caught in a rigged gamble?

Perhaps our only mistake is to assume that Taco had anything to do with this directly. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s never seen it, except perhaps when it showed up of Faux. Herr Miller probably directed the production of this propaganda. Meanwhile Taco is in his presidential suite, alone, watching whatever is on the tubes, sometimes his Faux buddies, sometimes other things that are not mentionable.

i heard that Portland burned down completely.

so trump don’t need to send troops there any more…

Portland Mayor: [with a small wave of the hand] You don’t need to send troops here any more.
trump: We don’t need to send troops there any more.
Portland Mayor: This isn’t the blue city you’re looking for.
trump: This isn’t the blue city we’re looking for.
Portland Mayor: Portland can go about it’s business.
trump: Portland can go about your business.
    Portland Mayor: Move along.
    trump: Move along… move along.
