At least I’m briefly entertained

Elle Cordova pokes gentle fun at our government’s current practice of stifling science they don’t like. I’d rather just hit a bunch of Republicans with a stout stick. I wonder which approach would be more effective.

I don’t think anything works, actually.

It’s difficult to get the stupid out of people. It is a tad promising that very slowly some folks who voted for him are waking up to the fact that he’s a very wealthy con man with the support of other very wealthy con men. How they could have missed it before last November is perplexing.

PZ, said ‘I don’t think anything works, actually.’
I reply: I am convinced that you a correct. The magat admin is ignoring court orders and mofo mikey adjourns to avoid responsibility. So, why would threatening them with, ‘speak softly and carry a BIG stick’ be any more effective.

The plutocratic cockroaches have obscene amounts of much money and power. They murdered their consciences years ago and won’t ever think about being honest, decent, caring and not destroying this country.

Welcome to the death spiral. Accelerating in a neighborhood near you.

Be Warned: The Financial Bubble Will Soon Burst
I HOPE THIS HAPPENS AND THAT IT IS DESTRUCTIVE TO THE BANKSTERS, PLUTOCRATS, CRYPTO COCKROACHES AND CRAPITALLISTS!

Depends on your goals. If you are wanting to fix the problem, you’re ought of luck. If you just want to feel better about the problem’s existence, whacking with a stick has its charms.

The Romans called it argumentum baculinum, it can work wonders.
But seriously, it’s a question of mental structure.
Science, research, that sort of stuff… they matter only to those who care about truth and reality, as much as or limited understanding can encompass them.
If all one cares about is domination (however illusory) and projecting power, these concepts become irrelevant. Useful sometimes, more often irritating and to be cast aside or destroyed. Of course, reality will assert itself sooner or later, but many lack the equipment to measure the consequences of reality denial.
I mean, just now DT has fired one of the chief statisticians. He didn’t like the reports, so now he’s in the market for some crawling lickspittle that will say what he wants, when he wants. Can you see this ending well?
