Aubrey de Grey does it again: he posted another long sanctimonious screed on Facebook about how no, he isn’t the harasser, someone else was doing the harassing, and there’s a conspiracy that is gaslighting his accuser and making her think he was harassing her, which is a really weird defense to make. Here’s just one sentence from the mess to give you an unpleasant taste.
My current best guess, based on the still somewhat fragmentary data available to me, is that these matters were kept from me by others who DID have those anti-Celine, pro-harasser intentions, because they realised that if I were informed of the situation I would act very swiftly (subject to hearing his side of the story!) to excise the harasser from the community for good.
It’s not very interesting, except as a sharp example of how you should shut up when accused of this sort of thing, it doesn’t help your case at all, especially when all you can muster of conspiracy-theory-mongering. What’s also somewhat interesting, though, is that he’s clearly pandering to his groupies, who are falling all over themselves to agree with his wacky stories.
Keep digging up Aubrey. You’ll make daylight any time now.
That his followers accuse her of being “mentally ill” for accusing him is truly disgusting. :( Even worse that one person blames her nationality, and says that British and European women are less likely to complain about harassment. Do these people realise how sick that is? Effing atrocious!
Well ladybrains are obviously incapable of telling one harasser from another or something. I’ll admit, as defences go it’s…novel.
Plaintive public pleadings aren’t much of a defence. PR, at best.
Off topic ,but the Doc visits Washington State ,and it’s first Murder Hornet nest is discovered there .
A simple coincidence ? I think not.
@5, First nest of this year (2021)… about 2km away from where one was found last year (2020)… was poopyhead visiting the area then? This year’s nest, inside a dead tree, was found to contain around 1500 developing hornets (poopyhead works fast!), plus additional layers of comb (and he’s still busy!!), very close to the Canadian border (perhaps further North than he claimed his plans were… so very very busy!!!).

Philip Jose Farmer’s ‘The Lovers’ featured a humanoid entity that mimicked humans. Methinks someone is spreading juicy killer hornets to ensure a good future access to food. Hmm…spiders eat hornets, don’t they?

Yeah, at this point de Grey has poisoned the well so badly that he needs to be sacked even if he was innocent of the original accusation (not that I believe that for a moment!). It is impossible to create a safe environment at any workplace with de Grey in a senior position because he has made it clear that he will openly victimise complainants and disrupt investigative protocols by threatening witnesses. A true sociopath. No wonder the billionaire circuit loves him.
Seems about normal for someone who’s done something obviously awful but is engaged in strenuous mental gymnastics to avoid confronting that and realizing they’re not the hero of the story. Without the sexual abuse contexts this would probably be something I’d expect from a 10 or 12 year old child in deep denial.
The only puzzling part of this for me is how anyone could think that sort of projection works. In my (limited) experience other kids usually shut that sort of nonsense down because it’s really obvious and it’s a damn nuisance for anyone to deal with, no matter what side of an issue you’re on.
