The birds are going insane at the feeders outside my office window. I guess they weren’t ready for this, either.

Hmmm… Where I am it’s 68’F, with an expected high today of 83’F. I’d really prefer lower temperatures.

Sometimes, when I’m perusing job sites, I’ll see a laser company in hiring in Idaho or Montana or something, and I think of how much more disposable income I would have if I left the coasts… Thank you for posting this.

I want to lie, shipwrecked and comatose,
Drinking fresh, mango juice,
Goldfish shoals, nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun,

Enjoy it while you can, there may come a time when your winters are gone.

Hmmm, on the other hand PZ, you don’t, unlike me, have the next 6 months of worrying about bush fires….

In northern California today, it was in the mid-80’s and cooler than the last few days.
I went swimming this afternoon.
OTOH, we have a red flag fire warning starting tomorrow.
Fire season in California used to be late summer and early fall. Now it is all year around.

I live in the south bay and have enjoyed all the smoke and ash from all the surrounding fires in the Santa Cruz mountains, the north bay, and the Sierra foothills to the east. I think our last rain was February. Temps are in mid 80s to low 90s with no projected changes through the end of the month.
At least our skies are blue again instead of apocalyptic orange. I sure hope it rains soon.

It’s the same up here in Alberta. Winter came weeks early and we’re looking at a long and cold one. Waiting to hear from my supervisor whether my transfer to Vancouver Island will be approved. I can’t stand the weather here, but it’s mainly our political climate that is inhospitable. Our Premier, Jason Kenney, is basically a Trump wannabe. He’s terrible.

In western Oregon I had to take in all the green tomatoes and peppers yesterday because we are supposed to get into the 30s at night this week. It should be raining but so far still is not. Fire season in Oregon continues until the rains get here. I assume they still will at some point.
